Mesmerizing Time Lapse of a Small Block Engine Build

This Time Lapse of a Chevrolet Redline Small-Block engine build is extremely mesmerizing, I found myself watching it over and over again. The V8 engine was built by the Chevrolet division of General Motors between 1955 and 2003 using the same basic engine block, this specific one is referred to as a small block for its comparative size relative to the physically larger Chevrolet big-block engines.

Retroactively referred to as the Generation 1 small-block, the production of the original small-block began in the fall of 1954 for the 1955 model year with a displacement of 265 cu in (4.3 L), growing incrementally over time to 400 cu in by 1970.

Although all of Chevrolet's siblings of the period (Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Holden) designed their own V8s, it was the Chevrolet 350 cu in small-block that became the GM corporate standard. Over the years, every American General Motors division except Saturn and Geo used it and its descendants in their vehicles.

Enjoy the Time Lapse that may send you into a time warp.
