Torqeedo has equipped its fast-racing deep blue speed boat with high-capacity electric technology and said that they took the batteries from a BMW i3 to power the boat. 

The advancements enable the boat to go up to 160 horsepower, whilst claiming to offer the highest energy density available in boating. The i3 battery will soon be operating in many other water vehicles, including sailing yachts and commercial marine applications making it a flawless companion to work with motor boats. 

Taking BMW's high-precision and robust batteries from the road to the water is pretty extreme but deliver high performance for this electric speed boat.  The design of the module ensures superior shock resistance, which is experienced constantly from the waves. The technology also allows efficient cooling, a compact size and temperature distribution to better it even more.
