Recently, the official 2022 Formula 1 cars were revealed, along with a mock-up of each racing team's livery – which is rather extravagant, vibrant and "out there".
Unlike a conventional concept car that you'll spot at the Geneva Motor Show, the new 2022 Formula 1 cars look almost identical to that of the wind tunnel model revealed in late 2019 and the digital renders that circulated last year. However, the digital renders all had "2021" printed all over them, as the car was intended to be used this year but got pushed to 2022 as a result of the pandemic.
After the launch of the real car, we now have a great understanding of what the car will look like. But, we have to keep in mind, Formula 1 is nothing like the IndyCar series where all cars are based on the same platform. In Formula 1, there is a lot more freedom in teams implementing their own design and engineering, within reason and under strict control of the FIA. But, nevertheless, the new Formula 1 cars look futuristic, fresh and insanely cool!
