HONDA CIVIC TYPE R VS TOYOTA 86 TRD – JAPANESE BATTLE WITH THE STIG!
Two of Japan's favourite track-focused cars go head-to-head in the battle for the crown. Which is better, the Honda Civic Type R or the Toyota 86 TRD?
We're in for a treat today as we join the American Stig as he pits these two contenders up against each other. And, no, I'm not lying about The Stig. This chap, Paul, was with the US version of Top Gear, donning the white suit, for eight years.
Paul gives us the blow-by-blow of each car around the track, describing in detail the pros and cons of both cars.
It may seem weird to compare the two. One is front-wheel-drive, but it has a turbocharger and a manual gearbox, and it is built for the track. The other is rear-wheel-drive, naturally aspirated and has skinny wheels for sideways action.
Nevertheless, they compete relatively closely on price and both have passionate fan bases.
So, in the end, which one is quicker around The Fast Lane's short track, and what does The Stig have to say about them? Press play to find out!
