MAX VERSTAPPEN'S STYRIAN GP BURNOUT LANDS HIM IN TROUBLE WITH FIA
Max Verstappen dominated in the first two free practice sessions of the Styrian Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring this past weekend. He then managed to score pole position during qualifying, which gave him an edge come race day on Sunday.
Verstappen's Mercedes Benz rival, Lewis Hamilton, qualified third on the grid behind his teammate, Valtari Bottas. But, Bottas was given a three-place grid penalty after spinning his car in the pit lane, dropping him to fifth on the starting grid, pushing Hamilton up to second.
After lights out, Max Verstappen lead the entire race, pulling up to over 30 seconds ahead of Hamilton.
To celebrate his victory, Max Verstappen slowed down before the finish line and performed a celebratory burnout!
As spectacular as this was, the race officials and FIA were not impressed with this action and gave Max and Red Bull a warning. If this was to happen again, there would be consequences.
