MEET KATLA, THE 1,586 KW, QUAD TURBOCHARGED V12 HYPERCAR FROM GIAMARO AUTOMOBILI

Ever heard of Giamaro Automobili? Yeah, it was a new name to us here at SXdrv, too. It does sound like a company that will do cool things, and judging by their current releases we find on the interwebs, the company will do just that. Giamaro Automobili is an Italian automotive startup founded on January 5, 2021, and based in Cavezzo, near Modena, Italy. The company is led by Pierfrancesco Commendatore and has recently finished the development of its first hypercar, the Katla, which made its debut on May 22 of this year. The Katla is powered by a unique quad-turbocharged V12 engine, developed in collaboration with Italtecnica from Turin, and it aims to deliver unmatched power in the region of a whopping 2,000 hp - and unlike others who are aiming that high, it’s done without any hybrid assistance. This ambitious project places Giamaro Automobili among the ranks of Italy's renowned supercar manufacturers. Meet Katla - the first creation from Giamaro Automobili, and it's not here to politely introduce itself. It's here to make the competition kak itself. At its core lies an all-new 6.988-litre V12 with a 120° hot-V configuration, fed by four turbochargers, and it's tuned for war. In standard trim, it produces 1,670 hp with 1,556 Nm of torque, enough to bend time. But wind it out in its most aggressive configuration, and the numbers detonate: 2,157 hp at 9,000 rpm, with 2,008 Nm of torque - say what?. There’s nothing retro or nostalgic here. Katla is a ground-up, original design with a longitudinal mid-mounted engine and a rear transaxle, laying down a 42:58 weight distribution for freakish levels of agility and control. The carbon monocoque it rides on weighs just 170 kg yet boasts over 40 kNm/deg of torsional rigidity - more than most race cars.

Around it, every suspension component is CNC-machined from aircraft-grade 6062-T6 aluminium, and the active dampers and aero systems continuously read and respond to speed, direction, and driver intent. This isn't just performance engineering, it’s performance engineering in attack mode. Visually, Katla is a kinetic sculpture. Its wide, low-slung silhouette exudes aggression even at a standstill - taut lines, rear-biased massing, and a presence that says touch me and I’ll end you. The surfaces flow from sharp to sinuous like liquid under tension, and every detail serves a purpose. The LED DRLs cut through the air like digital fangs, the fighter-jet-inspired intakes snort with intent, and the variable rear wing dances to the beat of the road, switching from downforce to airbrake depending on what the laws of physics are begging it to do. The interior is more cockpit than cabin - a wraparound command centre milled from carbon, metal and woven textiles, with controls that fall exactly where instinct expects them. It's not retro-futuristic. It's just future-designed not to separate the driver from the machine, but to fuse them into one organism with pulse, breath and bite. Katla isn’t just Giamaro’s debut. It’s their declaration of war. There’s no official word on production numbers or pricing, but with a bespoke automaker like Giamaro Automobili, you just know that it’s going to have an absolutely eye-wateringly expensive price tag that will attract the 1% of the 1%. We’re fully expecting to find out that one will end up in top-tier collections, like Manny Khoshbin’s in the USA.

Take a look at the YouTube video from the reveal of this absolutely stunning, new, and ridiculously powerful Katla that stray from the new norm and doesn't feature any hybrod-electric assictand to creaste it's more than 2,000 hop power output: Broken Silence | Giamaro Automobili
