MEXICAN F1 GRAND PRIX - VERSTAPPEN TAKES THE WIN, SERGIO MAKES HISTORY!
After an eventful qualifying on Saturday, Max Verstappen secured third place on the grid after Lewis Hamilton in second and his teammate Valtteri Bottas claimed pole position.
Straight after lights out, Max Verstappen managed to gain through the slipstream of the two Mercedes' and braked last which put him in first place. Unfortunately for Botas, he suffered a minor collision with one of the McLarens which set him all the way back as a result.
From then on it was a waiting game for most of the race with Hamilton deciding to pit first out of the top three race leaders. Sergio Perez, on the other hand, stayed out for quite some time before pitting which gave him a great advantage over Hamilton as he had newer tyres but even still he couldn't overtake.
Sergio Perez made his Mexican fans happy by becoming the first Mexican F1 driver to both lead a Mexican Grand Prix and secure a podium position.
