Michael Schumacher is without a doubt one of the most famous drivers in Formula 1 history. He started showing interest to speed at a very young age. When he was just four years old his father, Rolf Schumacher, modified his pedal kart by adding a small motorcycle engine, and Michael Schumacher was hooked.

In 1983, Michael Schumacher obtained his German driver's licence, and one year later he won his first official karting race. Five years later, Michael signed a contract with Willi Weber's WTS Formula 3 racing division, to which he quickly rose to claim the top driver in Formula 3. Soon thereafter, he gained the attention of Formula 1 teams, and thus his Formula 1 career started.
