NISSAN HITS SEMA 2025 WITH 3 WICKED OFF-ROAD BUILDS AND ONE TRACK TOY
When Nissan shows up at SEMA, it doesn’t arrive quietly - it shows up like a desert storm, a wave of rubber, noise, and innovation that proves the brand still knows how to make enthusiasts grin like it’s 1990. This year, the Japanese giant rolled into Vegas with four insane builds, each showing off a different flavour of Nissan’s DNA - from off-road monsters to track-ready missiles. “Nissan vehicles excite right out of the showroom,” says Kim Less, VP of Aftersales at Nissan, “but SEMA gives us a chance to show how far fans, builders, and dreamers can take them.”
Dune Patrol — Desert domination, reborn
Paying tribute to the Patrol’s legendary off-road racing heritage, the Nissan Dune Patrol is the ultimate support rig for the wildest desert events on Earth. Based on the PRO-4X and amped up with serious hardware, it’s got a full long-travel racing suspension, widened fenders, and prototype NISMO 18-inch AXIS beadlock wheels wrapped in 37-inch Yokohama GEOLANDAR M/Ts. Custom and prototype NISMO Off-Road parts crank the toughness to eleven - we’re talking high-clearance bumpers with swing-out spares, frame-mounted rock sliders, skid plates, roof racks, and a cat-back exhaust that sounds like thunder rolling over dunes. There’s storage everywhere: roof-mounted cases, MOLLE panels for fuel and water, an onboard air compressor, and a long-range radio antenna. If Mad Max had a support truck, this would be it.
Frontier Rapid Runner - from tailgating to whitewater weapon
Last year’s Trailgater was all about burgers and cold drinks. This year? It’s all about rapids and adrenaline. Meet the Frontier Rapid Runner, a wild rework by the crew at POWERNATION TV that turns Nissan’s PRO-4X into the ultimate adventure machine for kayak junkies. It’s fitted with NISMO roof and bed racks that can haul multiple kayaks, prototype 17-inch ASCEND wheels wrapped in 37-inch GEOLANDAR X-MTs, and TITAN-sourced suspension and axles that widen the stance for off-road stability. Custom tubular doors crank up the open-air vibes, while bespoke bumpers and fender flares fend off trail rash. The interior gets Covercraft waterproof seat covers, a portable shower, solar panels, and lined floors - because wet gear and muddy boots are just part of the fun.
Forsberg Racing NISMO GT-Z - turning boost into podiums
When Chris Forsberg gets involved, you know it’s going to slap. The NISMO GT-Z is a Z NISMO turned full-blown track animal, built for the upcoming GRIDLIFE GLTC series in 2026. It’s a testbed for NISMO performance parts - suspension, exhaust, aero - all sourced straight from the catalogue. Think of it as Nissan’s open invitation to enthusiasts: “Here’s your base. Go make it meaner.” It’s proof that the modern Z can go from showroom to race grid without losing its soul - or its warranty (well, maybe).Forsberg Racing Patrol - the 1,000-horsepower heritage hammer
SEMA wouldn’t be SEMA without a little insanity, and Forsberg Racing delivered exactly that. Meet the Forsberg Racing Patrol, a 1990 Y60-generation legend brought back to life and stuffed with a turbocharged Nissan TB48 inline-six pushing a ludicrous 1,000 horsepower. Power goes to the ground through NISMO 17-inch AXIS beadlock wheels wrapped in 35-inch GEOLANDARs, with NISMO Off-Road suspension making sure it doesn’t end up airborne - for too long, anyway. It’s part nostalgia, part chaos, all Nissan. The Y60 Patrol cemented Nissan’s rep in the off-road world - this restomod just turns that legacy up to eleven with the kind of numbers that’d make a GT-R blush.
From desert dunes to asphalt apexes, Nissan’s SEMA lineup celebrates the brand’s commitment to performance, adventure, and creativity. Whether it’s the hydrogen future, the EV frontier, or old-school internal combustion lunacy, Nissan’s message is clear: the thrill lives on - in every form of propulsion.
