NISSAN REVEALS TWO PAIRS OF EV AND HYBRID-POWERED CONCEPTS IN BEIJING.

The Beijing Motor Show is one of the biggest of its kind, and it grows as fast as the Chinese car market. The international show attracts automakers from across the globe, many of them doing their best to get their latest products into the market. The car buying market in China has different tastes to the Western world, and so we often see familiar models with light tweaks to make them happy, like with sedans, buyers seem to prefer the cars to be longer, which is where models like the BMW iL come from. The L denotes extra length. There are nearly six million cars in Beijing alone, and almost 320,000,000 in China, but with a population of 1.4 billion and growing fast, that’s a big possible market. Some automakers go all out and show off concept cars too, and for 2024 Nissan was one of those. The Japanese giant previewed no less than four future-looking models comprising a pair of SUVs and a pair of sedans, two being fully electric and two being plug-in hybrids. Nissan has a strategy for the Chinese market based on the motto, “In China, for China”, which focuses on corporate value and overall competitiveness in the market. Nissan also took the opportunity to unveil a new brand campaign called “Excitement by Ni”, and it embodies Nissan’s commitment to innovation as well as enriching people’s lives. Chinese consumers are embracing new lifestyles and intelligent, electric-driven innovations and mobility solutions. “To achieve sustainable growth in the rapidly changing Chinese market, Nissan is committed to a China-tailored strategy as we announced in our new business plan, ‘The Arc’. Starting with new energy vehicles to be based on the concepts unveiled today, Nissan will build a balanced product portfolio of diverse and competitive new models. Our aim will be to provide a more exciting mobility experience to all customers in China.” said Nissan President and Chief Executive Officer Makoto Uchida.

Nissan also announced that it would partner with leading companies to bring new and exciting intelligence systems and AI-based services to customers in China, and beyond into other markets. The four concept reveals were accompanied by a host of other Nissan models including the absolutely bonkers Nissan Hyper Force concept. The four concepts that were introduced are listed below.

The Nissan Epoch Concept is an EV sedan for urban and suburban go-getters who wish to enhance their lifestyles with design and technologies. The concept has an AI-expanded Internet of Things, and its virtual personal assistant makes life easier and more comfortable through communication that recognises emotions.
The Nissan Epic Concept is an EV SUV perfectly suited for adventurous city couples who explore on weekends, with autonomous driving for both the city and on highways. The vehicle can function as a mobile power source, with electricity to power equipment, campsites or parties. Meanwhile, its on-board technologies support and create a relaxing atmosphere.
The Nissan Era Concept is a plug-in hybrid SUV that supports urban lifestyles and is well suited to young businesspeople who treat their car as a second home. With an interconnected entertainment system and zero-gravity seats, its advanced e-4ORCE all-wheel control and active air suspension provide both a comfortable and confident drive.
The Nissan Evo Concept plug-in hybrid sedan is perfect for weekend getaways and creating special moments for the whole family. In addition to its advanced driver support and safety functions, its AI-enhanced virtual personal assistant helps properly deliver the intended drive and journey.

Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off the new design architecture that Nissan is heading towards with the reveal of two new EVs and two new PHEVs that look pretty, well, normal as far as concept cars usually go, but for wow factor the physical Hyper Force concept was displayed: Introducing four new energy vehicle concepts for the China market | #Nissan #AutoChina2024 | Nissan
