THE LEGEND OF THE 1967 FORD GT40 MARK IV

As we await the release of Ford V Ferrari – a movie about these two motoring giants as they take their fight to Le Mans – we look back at the legend that is the 1967 Ford GT40 Mark IV.

Just a few years ago, it was the 50th anniversary of Ford winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the second time, but the story didn't start there. Nope, the story started nearly a decade earlier with a meeting between Ford and Ferrari where the deal for the former to purchase the latter fell through.

That was all the push Henry Ford II needed to take the challenge of motor racing to Ferrari. It was ambitious, to say the least, but, with the right men on board, many hours of overtime and a budget that was never ending, not only did they win but they created legends in the process.

This short documentary covers the entire story, culminating in the creation and success of the legendary 1967 Ford GT40 Mark IV. It's gripping, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
