THE NEW LAMBORGHINI TEMERARIO SUPER TROFEO IS THE WILDEST BULL YET - RWD AND NO HYBRID SYSTEM FTW!
When Lamborghini rolls something new onto the tarmac, the world stops and stares. And when it’s a new Super Trofeo race car, unveiled during the Lamborghini World Finals at Misano, it commands attention. The Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo is the sixth-generation car to bear the Super Trofeo name and is, hands down, one of the most savage track weapons Sant’Agata has ever created. The Temerario Super Trofeo picks up the baton from the Huracán, which dominated one-make racing since 2015 across three different evolutions. That car became the heartbeat of Lamborghini’s global racing scene - but this new beast is the next evolutionary leap. The Temerario arrives as the successor to the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, and it’ll start tearing up circuits across Asia, Europe, and North America from 2027. It’s been developed alongside its big brother, the Temerario GT3, which debuted earlier this year at Goodwood and will make its competitive debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2026. The two share more than just looks - they share DNA. Real, fire-breathing, hybrid-tweaked, V8-engineered DNA.
Back in 2009, Lamborghini took what was - at the time - a wild gamble. They turned their Gallardo into a dedicated race car and launched the first Super Trofeo series. That decision changed the brand forever. Since then, 1,383 drivers have taken part in 563 races across the world, creating a motorsport community that’s every bit as wild and colourful as the cars themselves. As Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann put it: “We were never born as a racing brand, but our customers wanted cars built purely for the track - and we delivered. The Super Trofeo became a cornerstone of our brand, connecting us with passionate drivers everywhere. The Temerario Super Trofeo is the next step, a true purebred race car for the growing family that joins us at every Lamborghini weekend.”
Forget hybrid trickery for a moment - the Temerario Super Trofeo is pure, old-school fury wrapped in modern carbon and aero wizardry. Power comes from a 471 kW version of Lamborghini’s twin-turbo V8, paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox from Hoer - the same setup used in the GT3 car. That’s serious racing pedigree right out the gate. The chassis is a hybrid of aluminium and carbon fibre (ALU/CFK) with a fully integrated FIA roll cage, striking a perfect balance between lightweight agility and tank-like rigidity. Add ABS, a 12-point adjustable traction control system, and partnerships with Pertamina, Capristo, KW, and BMC Air Filters, and what you’ve got is a scalpel made of rage - engineered for gentlemen racers and future pros alike.
Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini CTO, gives his take: “The Temerario Super Trofeo is the ultimate expression of our fun-to-drive philosophy. It’s a pure racing evolution of the road-going Temerario, and thanks to its direct link with the GT3 car, it’s the ideal gateway for anyone wanting to step into GT racing.” That’s engineer-speak for this car is going to ruin friendships and lap records in equal measure.
Visually, the Temerario Super Trofeo looks like it was built to make Ferraris cry. The sharp, geometric design follows Lamborghini’s latest design language - all Y-shapes, vents, and venom - but dialled up to eleven. And that stance… this thing sits lower than a bad decision. The track presence is just absurd. Even standing still, it looks like it’s about to break the sound barrier. Because even race cars deserve some luxury, Lamborghini will debut Dinamica Infinity inside the Temerario Super Trofeo - the world’s first 100% PES mono-component non-woven suede. It’s eco-friendly, hard-wearing, and ridiculously premium. You’ll find it across the dashboard, where it adds a layer of futuristic texture and Italian flair - proof that even when you’re going flat out, Lamborghini insists on style.
