THE PORSCHE 911 GT3 MANTHEY KIT - THE TRACK-DAY CHEAT CODE, UNLOCKED. NEW 'RING KING?

If there’s one car that doesn’t need help being a track animal, it’s the Porsche 911 GT3. But that’s never stopped the mad scientists at Manthey from turning “already perfect” into “hold my Weissbier.” Enter the 992.2 GT3 Manthey Kit: a factory-approved set of upgrades so hardcore it makes the Weissach Package look like an entry-level warm-up. Porsche and Manthey’s engineers went full race-nerd here - reworked aero that piles on insane levels of downforce, a fresh coilover setup tuned for kerb-smashing antics, and brakes optimised for lap after lap of track-day punishment. The payoff? A scorching Nürburgring Nordschleife lap of 6:52.981, 2.8 seconds faster than the previous GT3 Manthey car despite less-than-ideal conditions. In proper weather, this thing will be knocking at the door of hypercar lap times.

Aero is where this kit really earns its stripes. The GT3’s already impressive numbers get turned up to “racecar with licence plates,” and the transformation is wild. Underbody turning vanes grow from 0.5 to 1.5 metres long, creating one giant aero element that smooths airflow and piles on downforce. The front lip sticks out 12 mm further, new underbody diffusers energise the air, and flaps along the flanks plant the front axle with conviction. Out back, the swan-neck wing grows wider, gains a Gurney flap, and gets enlarged end plates that curve inward for optimal flow. The rear diffuser gets longer fins, and carbon aerodiscs on the back wheels help clean up turbulence. The result: 355 kg of downforce at 285 km/h in road mode, and a face-melting 540 kg in circuit mode - over half a metric ton of grip, at speeds legal only in Germany or your imagination. Because aero without suspension is like a gym bro who skips leg day, the Manthey coilover setup is equally serious. Porsche and Manthey co-developed a new four-way adjustable suspension system that you can tweak without tools; compression, rebound, the whole works. Spring rates go up 10% at the nose, matching the car’s newfound aero muscle. The result is more mechanical grip, better stability in high-load corners, and much cleaner behaviour over kerbs. For the wheel snobs among us, forged 20-/21-inch wheels are optional, shaving 6 kg of unsprung mass. Braided steel brake lines come standard for perfect pedal feel, and you can spec motorsport-grade PCCB pads if you’re the type who counts tenths like they’re Bitcoin.

Of course, Manthey knows GT3 owners love flexing as much as they love apexes. So the accessory list is pure motorsport porn: carbon door sills with illuminated Manthey logos, LED door projectors, carbon aero pieces, coloured aero discs, and proper tow straps for the full VLN vibe (just remember to remove them before driving to brunch). The vibe is very “GT3 RS’s wild cousin from the ’Ring paddock,” and it absolutely slaps. Then there’s the Nürburgring run - the benchmark for any self-respecting Porsche. With DTM champ Ayhancan Güven behind the wheel, the new Manthey GT3 smashed a 6:52.981 despite wet patches and sub-optimal grip. Güven said the higher downforce and dialled-in suspension made the car easier and more confidence-inspiring, and both he and Manthey’s Nicolas Raeder reckon it has even more time in it once the weather plays along. They’ve already hinted at a redo next year in perfect conditions, which should see even more seconds fall off the clock. In true Porsche fashion, the Manthey Kit is a proper OEM-approved upgrade, sold through Porsche Centres worldwide. No dodgy aftermarket warranty nightmares—this is the real-deal, factory-blessed path to making the GT3 even more of a weapon. It’s the closest you can get to running a customer Porsche Cup car without giving up licence plates and air-con.
