VIDEO: A NEW WORLD RECORD 0-60MPH TIME WAS JUST CLOCKED...BY AN ELECTRIC CAR!

A group of very innovative students from GreenTeam Uni Stuttgart have just set a new world record for a vehicle accelerating from 0–60mph and believe it or not it's electric!

The teams battery-powered car sprinted to the 60mph speed from a standstill in an insane time of 1.779 seconds. The attempt needs to be evaluated by Guinness World Records, but is quicker than the previous world record of 1.785 seconds by the AMZ Racing Team.

The fastest accelerating vehicle in the world is an all-wheel drive electric racecar pushing out 100kW of power.

According to the students’ website, the car’s specifications are as follows:

  • Power: 4 x 25kW motors
  • Weight: 165kg
  • Top speed: 130km/h
  • Battery capacity: 6.62kWh

What an amazing feat by such young brilliant minds!
