VIDEO: THE 2017 NISSAN GT-R IS FASTER AND STRONGER THAN EVER

The 2017 Nissan GT-R was revealed at the New York International Auto Show in March. Nissan Chief Product Specialist Hiroshi Tamura and CVP, Product Planning Keno Kato look back in history of when they first experienced the ultimate performance of the GT-R. This new GT-R brings direct lineage from Nissan's motorsports activities and driving enhancements have been made in key areas such as chassis reinforcements and increased power from its twin turbocharged 3.8L 24 valve V6 VR38DETT engine. Each engine unit is handcrafted by its Takumi technicians that delivers 565 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 467lb-ft of torque which represents an increase of 20HP and 4lb-ft from last year's model. Power increases are due in part to an increase in boost pressure and an ignition-timing system controlled at each individual cylinder – technology previously reserved for the GT-R NISMO.
