CAN A ₤500 FREELANDER BEAT A JIMNY IN AN OFF-ROAD CHALLENGE?

Let's have some fun and see if an old ₤500 Land Rover Freelander can beat a Suzuki Jimny in an off-road challenge.

The Land Rover Freelander may have had many faults, but considering how many there are still on the roads, they couldn't have all been that bad. The Suzuki Jimny, on the other hand, has always endeared itself to most, with its tiny size, and low range four-wheel-drive.

We join the chaps over at Car Throttle as they take on another off-road challenge, pitting the two of them against each other. First things first, they have to find a vehicle to challenge the Suzuki Jimny and, after hours of searching, they settle on the Land Rover Freelander for just ₤450.

The challenge includes three parts; a race around the muddy adventure park, an incline test to see who can make it to the top, and a tug-of-war to see which is more powerful.
