Doesn't it just make your blood boil when you see rare collector's cars being completely destroyed in movies? Well, there is a rather good reason for this: audiences want to see car crashes in action, so, because of this demand, filmmakers will continue to do so.

Movies, such as James Bond and Transformers, are at the top of the list when it comes to the number of cars destroyed during their making. But there is one movie franchise which is more than both these movies combined and, yup, you guessed it, the Fast and Furious.

Over the last two decades of movies, the Fast and Furious franchise has destroyed over 1,400 cars.

But, to give you a little peace of mind, what you see on screen is not necessarily what goes down behind the scenes. The cars that get destroyed are not the same ones portrayed in the movie. There are usually several replicas made for different scenes of the film. The cars that get destroyed are usually on their last legs, and they receive a paint job and a few cosmetics here and there. The "hero" cars, however, are usually left unscratched.
