THE 640 HP V10 LAMBORGHINI HURACáN TECNICA IS HERE TO STIR YOUR SOUL.

It’s great that the men in white coats at Lamborghini keep thinking up cool new ways to modify and tweak the Huracán platform. Their latest idea to come into being is the new Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, and the tagline for this version is “Take All Your Souls To Drive”. This means that there’s more than one thing inside of us and when we do things that make us happy, we should be doing it for all of these different parts of us. So with that in mind they’ve tailored this new Huracán to offer up the best of both worlds, that of street and track. This supercar’s setup is like a mullet, business in the front and party at the back - the car is perfect for cruising the streets and hitting up weekend track days, but at the same time it’s perfect for the daily corporate kind of work, an Italian beauty that a company CEO will be happy to use to project a successful image.

The Huracán Tecnica is the company’s next-generation rear-wheel drive that’s powered by the automaker’s signature V10 powerplant which has been used in varying forms since its introduction way back in 2003. In this incarnation the car has been tailored for pilots who are after driving fun and lifestyle perfection both the track and the road. The Tecnica name suggests, there’s been advances on the technical prowess of the Huracán Tecnica and in typical Lamborghini fashion there’s been attention paid to the exterior with some very good looking new changes that help accentuate the car’s improved aerodynamics. This extra aero is one of the clues as to the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica being as at home on the racetrack as it is on the streets. This is the Huracán that’s been labelled “the perfect fun-to-drive Huracán, as compelling when driving to the race circuit as it is on the street itself,” according to Automobili Lamborghini Chairman & CEO Stephan Winkelmann.

When it comes to the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, there’s no messing around in the power stakes. Driving the rear wheels we find the trusted 5.2-litre, V10 powerplant in similar spec to the Huracán STO and so there’s an amazing 640 horsepower on tap to drive the rear wheels. With its 565 Nm, the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica is able to launch to 100km/h in just 3.2-seconds while ten cylinders scream. The Tecnica is not only lightweight, there’s been recalibration to the LDVI system and it now features distinctly-tuned driving modes with specific suspension set-ups, rear-wheel direct steering, as well as innovative brake cooling improvements allow drivers to experience the perfect all-round Huracán. The Huracán Tecnica delivers the best of both worlds - a versatile super sports car for road and track.

Drive modes available in the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica are labelled Strada, Sport and Corsa, each one calibrated on the Tecnica to provide a highly differentiated response to each environment.

STRADA
The rear-wheel-steering provides stability and manoeuvrability, complemented by the torque vectoring and P-TCS. The engine and gearbox are both tuned for comfortable everyday driving in every setting.

SPORT
The rear-wheel steering’s enhanced oversteer and the enhanced slip threshold of the P-TCS allows for fun, while torque vectoring ensures the Tecnica’s agility and responsiveness in the hands of the driver. The highly responsive powertrain sparks at the touch of the accelerator and the seven-speed gearbox provides a tactile and emotive shift.

CORSA
The car’s and driver’s race spirit is awoken: the Tecnica responds to the pilot’s every input with extreme precision, with the naturally aspirated Lamborghini engine’s roar an impassioned reminder of the car’s track talents.  The powertrain is calibrated to provide optimised track-oriented throttle response and the fastest gearshifts, with the Tecnica demonstrating maximum precision and agility from all systems via the LDVI, including maximum lateral and longitudinal grip from the torque vectoring and P-TCS respectively.

The Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica looks a lot more intimidating with an inward facing front, that full carbon fibre hood, a new Terzo Millennio Black Ypsilon-design bumper, front splitter, and purposeful ducting. The reshape of the rear includes a new vertical rear glass window giving improved visibility, and the redesigned engine cover is in full carbon fibre now too. The new hexagonal exhaust pipes deliver the perfect V10 symphony. The new Damiso 20” diamond-cut wheels are inspired by the Lamborghini Vision GT’s hexagonal design.

The interior of the Huracán Tecnica features many bespoke finishes across the race car for the street interior. There’s a redesignedHMI interface exclusive to the Tecnica where the driver’s instrument panel reduces colours and emphasises readability with a new ‘arc’ in ahead of the pilot. The console screen includes the LDVI functions with a real-time display, as well as all connectivity functions including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. Another thing inspired by the STO is the addition of connected telemetry and on-board diaries of destinations and track times, all connected to the UNICA app.
