WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAMBORGHINI ESTOQUE?
Back in the day, we all got our hopes up after being teased by Lamborghini on their first-ever 4 seater sedan car which they called the Estoque.
The Lamborghini Estoque made it all the way into a prototype and was even featured on Top Gear, but never quite saw the road.
The Lamborghini Estoque would feature an aluminium frame borrowed from an Audi A8 and featured the same V10 engine as in the Lamborghini Gallardo, as the V12 in the Mercilago would have not delivered the best drive for a sedan, according to Lamborghini. The Lamborghini Estoque would go on to produce a nice and even round number 555 bhp which was sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The Estoque would also have a top speed of over 190 Miles per hour.
However, after its international debut in Paris in 2008, the Volkswagen board admitted that they were not too convinced that the Lamborghini Estoque would be a very feasible option to add to Lamborghini's lineup and they pulled the plug on the entire project.
