THE LEGENDARY 60 MINUTES REPORT ON LAMBORGHINI IN 1987

We drop gently into a time capsule to visit 1987 when the show, 60 Minutes, was the bee's knees on investigative reporting and Morley Safer was the voice of Sunday evening. This is his report on the Lamborghini Countach at the time.

According to their site, 60 Minutes is "the most successful broadcast in television history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments, and profiles of people in the news," which has led it to receive almost every award there is for a news magazine and television program.

Why am I talking about it, though? Well, back in 1987, co-host Morley Safer took a trip to Italy to do a lifestyle piece on Lamborghini. Now, you'll be forgiven for thinking I've hit my head and this is the last thing I remember but, honestly, watching this segment is more revealing about life at the time than most.

It's marvellous to see how far we've come and yet, the passion for the Lamborghini Countach has never faded, it's the car that broke the mould, it turned heads and fuelled the dreams of many. It's an icon, and this video will show you why.
