THE EQUESTRE – WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LET MANSORY LOOSE ON A FERRARI 12 CILINDRI. HIT OR MISS?

When Ferrari dropped the all-new 12Cilindri earlier this year, purists sighed in relief - no hybrid wizardry, no turbos, just a howling, naturally aspirated V12 bolted into a body that looked more sculpted than designed. It was more than just another fast Ferrari; it felt like a love letter to petrolheads, and very likely the last chapter for a pure-combustion twelve-cylinder Ferrari road car. But if you thought Ferrari’s take was dramatic, wait until Mansory gets involved. The German tuner famous (or infamous, depending on your taste) for going all-in on exotic cars has just unveiled the first full-blown 12Cilindri conversion in the world. They call it the Mansory Equestre, and in true Mansory fashion, it’s equal parts art, excess, and intimidation.

Let’s rewind for a second. The stock Ferrari 12Cilindri is no slouch. Under its long bonnet sits the latest version of Ferrari’s iconic V12, coded F140HD. It’s a naturally aspirated masterpiece that churns out 610 kW and 678 Nm of torque. Coupled to an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the car blitzes from 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, hits 200 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and tops out at 340 km/h. Design-wise, Ferrari went bold. Gone are the stretched headlights and familiar grille; instead, you get a single blade-like DRL band across the front, clean surfacing along the flanks, and a razor-edged rear with taillights embedded into a full-width light strip. It’s unmistakably Ferrari, but with a futuristic slant - the kind of look that divides opinion until you see one hammering down the autostrada.

Mansory’s Rewrite – The Equestre. As you should know, Mansory doesn’t do “mild.” Their first full conversion of the 12Cilindri is a headline grabber, named Equestre (Italian for “equestrian”), available in both coupe and Spider form. And it’s a complete reinvention. The front apron is all-new, dominated by oversized air intakes crafted entirely from carbon fibre. The bonnet? Also carbon. Wheel arch vents, sill extensions, and rear fenders? Carbon again. The rear apron is, unsurprisingly, full carbon with an integrated third brake light. Everywhere you look, the weave of exposed carbon fibre stares back at you. Running over the top is a centrally mounted racing stripe in the colours of the Italian flag - a visual reminder of the car’s Maranello DNA, even as Mansory drapes it in German excess. The Equestre debuts Mansory’s new one-piece forged VF.5 rims, 21-inch at the front and 22-inch at the back. Lightweight, sculptural, and destined to appear on other high-performance Mansory builds soon. Inside, it’s all Mansory theatre. The launch spec swaps Ferrari leather for a full Alcantara cabin in grey, with purple accents splashed across trim pieces. The headliner glows with integrated LEDs and an illuminated Mansory logo, while carbon fibre is everywhere, finished in classic “visible carbon.” As always, the interior can be customised in any colour, stitch, or finish - if your imagination (and bank balance) can handle it.

Mansory didn’t stop at cosmetics. Through tweaks to the ECU and a brand-new four-pipe sports exhaust system with valve control and twin sports cats, the Equestre’s V12 is bumped to 628 kW and 730 Nm. The new exhaust not only frees up power, but also turns the already operatic Ferrari soundtrack into something more volcanic. The tips exit through the bespoke carbon fibre rear apron, with two pairs of tailpipes stacked in Mansory’s unmistakable style. This is Mansory in a nutshell. Founded in 1989 by Kourosh Mansory, the German outfit has built its reputation on outrageous, polarising designs. Whether it’s Lamborghinis with more fins than a hammerhead shark or Rolls-Royces dipped in gold leaf, their builds are never subtle. The Equestre continues that tradition. To some, it’s an insult to Ferrari’s elegant restraint; to others, it’s the ultimate expression of individuality, a supercar that shouts as loudly as it drives. And that’s exactly the point.
