THE NEW PORSCHE 911 TURBO S IS A 532 KW / 800 NM SUPERCAR SLAYER!

The Porsche 911 Turbo S has always been the benchmark – the car you’d measure everything else against when it comes to blending everyday usability with supercar-destroying pace. The outgoing model already sat at the top of that very steep hill, but Stuttgart clearly wasn’t satisfied. Enter the new 911 Turbo S, a car that’s sharper, angrier, more exclusive, and yes, much faster. Available as both coupé and cabriolet, this new flagship takes all the things that made the last one brilliant and dials them up into overdrive.

At its heart sits a newly developed 3.6-litre boxer six, boosted by Porsche’s T-Hybrid system. Don’t let the “hybrid” tag fool you - this is no eco-special. It’s there for performance first, efficiency second. Two electric exhaust gas turbochargers (eTurbos) work in unison with a compact high-voltage battery and an eight-speed PDK to deliver a monstrous 523 kW and 800 Nm of torque. The numbers translate to an absurd 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and 200 km/h in 8.4 seconds. Top speed is listed at a rather healthy 322 km/h. Despite packing extra hybrid hardware, it’s only 85 kg heavier than the outgoing car. Porsche’s engineering team has ensured every gram is justified, and the result is a Nürburgring lap time of 7:03.92 - fourteen seconds quicker than the already ferocious old Turbo S. Development driver Jörg Bergmeister summed it up best: “You don’t feel the weight gain. The car is more agile, has more grip, and is significantly faster everywhere.”

The Turbo S now comes armed with electro-hydraulic Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (ehPDCC) as standard, keeping that wider, lower, more aggressive body pinned flat in corners without ruining comfort on the commute. New tyres – 255/35 ZR 20 up front and 325/30 ZR 21 out back – deliver more bite, while braking is handled by Porsche’s largest ever ceramic setup in a two-door car. Discs measure 420 mm at the front and 410 mm at the rear, with uprated pads for savage stopping power and precision feel.

Hybrid systems usually hush things up, but Porsche didn’t let the Turbo S lose its voice. A new titanium sports exhaust saves nearly seven kilos and has been tuned to emphasise that iconic flat-six thrum. Asymmetrical engine timing layers in more frequencies for a rawer, throatier note. It’s Porsche theatre, only louder. This is the first 911 to debut Porsche’s new cross-series Turbo design language, marked by Turbonite accents - exclusive to Turbo models – on everything from the badging and wheel centre-locks to the interior stitching and instrument faces. The bodywork is wider and meaner than Carrera models, with re-sculpted rear haunches, new intakes, a reworked diffuser, and titanium tailpipes that look as serious as they sound.

Inside, the theme continues: Turbonite trim on the dash, wheel, and seats, optional carbon-structured elements, and a neodymium accent finish. Standard fit includes Adaptive 18-way Sports Seats Plus with “Turbo S” lettering, embossed panels inspired by the original 930 Turbo, HD Matrix LED headlights, the Sport Chrono Package, and Porsche’s latest PASM suspension tech. As ever, the 911 Turbo S doesn’t just smash lap times - it still plays daily driver, too. Coupés come standard as two-seaters (rear seats can be added at no cost), while cabriolets are naturally 2+2. There’s even an optional lift system for the front axle, now quicker than ever thanks to its integration with the hybrid’s 400 V system. The new 911 Turbo S is Porsche proving they can make a hybrid supercar feel every bit as visceral as the old school, while being faster, sharper, and more exclusive than ever. If you’re after one car that can blitz a racetrack, devour an autobahn, and still carry you home in comfort, this is it. Well, if you have around R5,600,000 to spare…
