THE STUNNING ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE S IS THE NEW OFFICIAL FIA FORMULA 1 SAFETY CAR

When the lights go out, the world’s fastest show demands a pace car worthy of the stage. Enter the new Aston Martin Vantage S - the most performance-focused Vantage ever built - now unveiled as an Official FIA Safety Car of Formula 1. Making its high-octane debut at the Dutch Grand Prix, the Vantage S arrives not just as a safety measure, but as a statement that safety, performance, and theatre can exist in one glorious machine. Hand-built in Britain, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 in the Vantage S has been tuned to an electrifying 500 kW and 800 Nm. That translates into a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 325 km/h - enough to command respect from the grid it leads.

Beyond raw power, Aston Martin has engineered the Vantage S for precision and includes:

New aerodynamic upgrades, including a full-width decklid spoiler and centrally-mounted bonnet blades for optimal airflow.

FIA lightbar integration, designed for maximum visibility and stability at pace.

A chassis balance dialled for sharp turn-in and grip, giving Bernd Mayländer, the FIA Safety Car driver, confidence to control the fastest drivers in the world tucked in behind.

Painted in Podium Green - the same hue as the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team cars - the Safety Car looks every bit as explosive as it sounds.

Alex Long, Global Marketing Director at Aston Martin comments: “Vantage S represents the peak of performance for the model that is the beating heart of Aston Martin. With increased power and even greater dynamic prowess, this car was destined to take on the prestigious role as an F1® Safety Car. In terms of brand awareness, nothing competes with Formula 1, and it is a source of pride for our team and our customers to see this car leading the grid.”

This isn’t Aston Martin’s first foray onto Formula 1’s biggest stage. The partnership began in 2021, when the marque returned as an Official FIA Safety and Medical Car supplier, putting the Vantage and the powerhouse DBX707 SUV into regular duty. Since then, Aston Martin has been more than just a name in the paddock:

2021: The Aston Martin Vantage was introduced as the first official Safety Car from the brand, breaking Mercedes-Benz’s long-standing exclusivity.

2022–2023: The DBX707, the world’s most powerful ultra-luxury SUV, was elevated to Official Medical Car, providing trackside response capability.

2024: Aston Martin celebrated 110 years as a manufacturer, underlining its DNA of performance and design as central to Formula 1’s global stage.

With the arrival of the Vantage S in 2025, the collaboration evolves again - proof that Aston Martin isn’t just participating in Formula 1, it’s shaping its identity both on and off the track.

The Vantage S joins the Aston Martin DBX707 in official FIA service, with one mission: ensuring the world’s fastest sport is run with safety at its core, without compromising spectacle. In Formula 1, safety cars don’t just neutralise the race, they amplify the drama. And with its snarling V8, blistering stats, and unmistakable Aston presence, the Vantage S is safety reimagined as theatre.

Bernd Mayländer, FIA Safety Car Driver comments: “The Vantage S represents a clear step forward in performance capability. The responsiveness, grip and balance give me the confidence to react instantly when deployment is called for. Driving the most performance-focused Vantage yet on the world’s greatest circuits - that’s a privilege.”
