NOW YOU CAN OWN A BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M HYBRID V8 RACECAR AT A MORE PALATABLE BUDGET - BUT YOU HAVE TO BUILD IT YOURSELF.

BMW M Motorsport and LEGO once again join to unveil the latest addition to the LEGO Speed Champions series: a meticulously crafted build set featuring the amazing BMW M Hybrid V8 and the BMW M4 GT3. This dynamic duo promises not only an authentic build-and-play experience but also a glimpse into the adrenaline-fueled world of motor racing. As the new season of motorsport approaches, so does the anticipation for the release of this new LEGO set designed to captivate younger fans aged nine and above, but we all know most of these sets will end up in the hands of seasoned collectors. They’re not the most basic sets either, it comprises 676 intricately detailed pieces to properly portray a replica of the full-sized racecars. Builders will have the opportunity to recreate two current competition racing cars from BMW M Motorsport: the powerful BMW M Hybrid V8 and the sleek and more relatable BMW M4 GT3. These iconic vehicles are set to lead BMW M Motorsport's charge for glory at prestigious events, including the highly anticipated 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 15th and 16th, 2024. True to the spirit of the Speed Champions series, these miniature marvels mirror their real-life counterparts with remarkable precision. From the distinctive BMW M Motorsport paintwork to the attention-grabbing spoilers and exhaust tailpipes, every element exudes authenticity. Builders can even remove the roofs of the miniatures to place the included racing driver figures into their cockpits, setting the stage for epic wheel-to-wheel battles in the comfort of their bedrooms.

The new LEGO set comes as the full-sized cars from BMW M Motorsport are gearing up for a triumphant return to the international prototype racing scene with the BMW M Hybrid V8. Following its successful debut in the IMSA series' GTP category, this electrified V8 racer is set to make waves in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). Marking 25 years since the iconic BMW V12 LMR's historic victory at Le Mans, the BMW M Hybrid V8's debut at the legendary endurance race heralds a new era in BMW's prototype racing legacy. Meanwhile, the BMW M4 GT3, under the banner of BMW M Team WRT, will take on the challenges of the FIA WEC races, including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. With two BMW M Hybrid V8 cars competing in the hypercar category and a pair of BMW M4 GT3 racers in the LMGT3 class, BMW M Motorsport is poised to dominate the track and captivate fans worldwide. The cars look amazing in real life, and with the legions of fans that follow BMW Motorsport religiously, these LEGO creations will be a great addition to any collection, or would even be the perfect start to a Speed Champions collection of all the coolest racing-inspired and movie-related cars. The kits available are mainly aimed at kids, but we all know when they cost over R200, they’re more likely to end up on display in a special case, in a man cave or in a bar. The new BMW M Hybrid V8 and the BMW M4 GT3 set have already gone on sale so fand can order from various websites and specialist LEGO retailers. The listed price for the kit is €49.99, which translates into just over R1,000 - without delivery, of course. These would look great in the new SXdrv offices. Actually anything motoring-related will look great in the new office, it’s awesome.
