Why some supercars take more than just having a lot of money to buy.
If the time has come to buy a new car, what you'd normally do is go through the awkward phase of going to a dealership, taking a look and doing research on the cars available. Then, the salesman comes trotting up to you with the biggest smile on his face, and what do they do? They try to upsell you to a better model, of course!
However, what about Supercar dealerships? Well, in most cases they work in pretty much the same way. The only difference is that, more often than not, you can't even take the car home after you've bought it. You'll have to wait a few months – or even years – in order for the manufacturer to make it for you according to your spec.
But, there is one company out there that does things rater unconventionally, and that is Ferrari.
If you waltz into a Ferrari dealership, it's unlikely that they would sell you a La Ferrari, or similar, even if you had more than enough money to buy 10 of them.
This has nothing to do with financial concerns. Rather, it's about Ferrari not knowing you personally and not believing that you are good for their brand!
In order to buy a brand new, top-of-the-line Ferrari, you have to build a relationship with the brand first. This may include owning several used Ferrari's, attending launches, races, and exclusive Ferrari event's, as well as regularly attending Formula 1 races.
