HENNESSEY UNLEASHES 625 KW SUPER VENOM MUSTANG TO CELEBRATE ITS 1991 ORIGINS

It’s been over three decades since John Hennessey set out to make fast cars even faster and to mark the occasion, the Texas-based performance powerhouse is rolling out its latest tire-shredding creation: the Hennessey SUPER VENOM Mustang. John Hennessey’s journey into the performance world started in 1991 when he modified his personal Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the Silver State Classic. From there, Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) was born, and it quickly gained a reputation for turning already quick cars into fire-breathing monsters. Over the years, the Hennessey Venom name has been reserved for only the most extreme machines, from twin-turbocharged Dodge Vipers to the Venom GT, which set a blistering 270.49 mph top speed, briefly earning it the title of the world’s fastest production car. More recently, Hennessey introduced the Venom F5, an American-built hypercar aimed at breaking the 300 mph barrier. With the SUPER VENOM Mustang, Hennessey is applying that same philosophy to Ford’s latest pony car, creating a supercar-slaying muscle machine with a full factory warranty and availability through select Ford dealerships. Packing big power and torque, aggressive carbon fibre aero, and a 91-unit production cap as a nod to the company's founding year, this isn't just another souped-up pony car - it's a celebration of speed, power, and everything that makes American muscle great.

At the heart of the SUPER VENOM Mustang sits Ford’s 5.0-litre Coyote V8, but Hennessey has turned the wick up to a scorching 850 hp (625 kW) - a 70% increase over stock. That power boost comes courtesy of a high-flow air induction system, a high-performance supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump, and a recalibrated engine management system. The result? A 0-100 km/h sprint in around 3.3 seconds - half a second quicker than a stock Dark Horse - and the charged ‘Stang is now capable of a healthy 10.9-second quarter-mile at 214 km/h. Of course, all that power needs to be planted effectively, which is where the in-house designed VenomAero carbon fibre kit comes in. This aerodynamic package features a more aggressive front splitter, functional hood vents, side skirts, front fender louvres, a rear deck lid with an integrated duckbill, and a tall, fixed rear track wing. The result? Enhanced high-speed stability, improved cooling, and more grip whether you're carving up backroads or setting lap times.

Visually, the SUPER VENOM Mustang gets a choice of three bespoke liveries - black, silver, or red - paired with factory paint options. It also receives 20-inch lightweight performance wheels, Hennessey and SUPER VENOM badging, and a ghosted Hennessey signature logo on the rear wing. Inside, the cabin has been reworked with bespoke leather and Alcantara seats, available in black or blue, custom console trim, and a numbered plaque for each of the 91 units. Hennessey is offering the SUPER VENOM upgrade for both the Mustang GT Coupe and the Dark Horse, available with either a 10-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. The SUPER VENOM Dark Horse starts at $163,950 (a mere R3,018,745.50), while the SUPER VENOM GT comes in at $149,950 (a bargain R2,760,969.12). Each car is backed by Ford’s factory warranty and an additional 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty from Hennessey.

John Hennessey, company Founder, and CEO: “Over the years we have only branded our most potent cars with our ‘Venom’ trademark:  Venom Vipers, Venom GT and most recently our Venom F5.  We are excited to unveil our SUPER VENOM Mustang as it offers supercar performance and can now be ordered directly from Ford dealers with a full warranty! Further, we are excited to commemorate our company’s founding in 1991 by offering only 91 units and a unique ’91 Icon’ livery.”

Brian Jones, Hennessey VP of Engineering: “The Hennessey VenomAero track pack enhancements deliver improved handling and grip when driving the SUPER VENOM Mustang hard on road or track. We’ve also achieved better cooling, and added a suite of aerodynamic devices to ensure our version of the Mustang delivers at the pinnacle of performance.”

Nathan Malinick, Hennessey Director of Design: “We worked hard to celebrate the esteemed Mustang bloodline with the design of our SUPER VENOM. With a unique interior and track-focused enhancements outside we recognize the iconic muscle car’s sporting heritage alongside that of Hennessey Performance.”
