MARC MáRQUEZ AND DUCATI: CHAMPIONS OF THE 2025 MOTOGP SEASON

It’s official - Marc Márquez is back on top of the world, and this time he’s done it in Ducati red. With five full race weekends still left on the calendar, the Spanish superstar clinched the 2025 MotoGP Riders’ Championship, delivering Ducati its fourth consecutive title and cementing one of the most dominant streaks in modern premier-class racing. For Márquez, it’s his first world crown since joining Ducati at the start of 2025. For Ducati, it’s proof that the Desmosedici GP isn’t just the best bike on the grid - it’s the most adaptable weapon in MotoGP, capable of turning multiple riders into champions. After Francesco Bagnaia’s back-to-back triumphs in 2022 and 2023, Jorge Martín’s 2024 title, and now Márquez’s charge in 2025, Ducati has rewritten what dominance looks like.

A season written in records - Márquez bulldozed the competition. His numbers tell the story:

14 Sprint race victories

11 GP wins

10 Sprint/GP double wins, with a staggering seven consecutive doubles – a record in MotoGP history

A total of 541 points, a massive 201 points ahead of his closest rival

From the opening round, it was clear the partnership between Márquez and the Desmosedici GP clicked instantly. The Spaniard’s trademark aggression and Ducati’s cutting-edge engineering created a season of relentless dominance, race after race. It all came together at the Grand Prix of Japan. While Márquez wrapped up the Riders’ Title, it was teammate Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia who stole the weekend headlines on track with a Sprint and GP double victory - a result that underlined Ducati’s strength across the board. The 2025 Motegi weekend wasn’t just another win; it was a defining moment that showcased the depth of talent and machinery in Ducati red.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, summed it up best: “The story continues, and what an incredible story we are writing! We are World Champions for the fourth consecutive year, proving that when talent, skills, and dedication meet, the boundary between the possible and the extraordinary disappears. On the track, everything may seem easy, especially when the results come consistently, but behind every success there is relentless teamwork: months of design and simulations, hours dedicated to data analysis, engine changes calibrated down to the smallest detail, race strategies studied with precision. All of this remains invisible to the eyes of the observers, but it is behind the scenes that we build victory. It is there that every small detail makes the difference and becomes the decisive element that allows a champion to express his best on the track. With Marc, this process was natural: he immediately found harmony with the Desmosedici GP. From the very first race, he confirmed everything we expected from him, and in many cases, even exceeded our own expectations, demonstrating how an extraordinary talent like his and the meticulous work of a passionate and competent team like ours can enhance each other. What made this weekend even more special was Pecco’s performance, winning both the Sprint and the Sunday race. Seeing his smile, while also celebrating the Riders’ Championship, is an image that will stay with us for a long time and speaks more than words about the strength of Ducati. To all the women and men of Ducati Corse, I want to say thank you: once again, together, we did it. We are all part of a mechanism that only works if every element gives its all, and the Ducati mechanism is working at its best today, with Gigi Dall'Igna coordinating and inspiring every move. A special thanks goes to Lenovo, our partners, and suppliers, whose contributions make it possible to achieve goals of this level. Last year, I promised the Ducatisti that we would not settle, that we would continue working to win again... and today we demonstrate that our passion and commitment aren't just words, but concrete results that always put us one step ahead.”

The Riders’ crown adds to Ducati’s already overflowing trophy cabinet in 2025. The Constructors’ Championship was locked down in Barcelona - their sixth consecutive title - an achievement unmatched in the history of MotoGP.

Behind the victories are staggering numbers that illustrate just how intense Ducati’s quest for perfection has become:

100,000+ hours of design

11,000+ hours of calculations and simulations

2,500 CFD cycles dedicated to aero and engine development

5,000 hours of bench testing

80+ engine changes managed during the season

48 race engines built for six riders

1 TB of track data collected and another 800 GB of augmented analysis

30,000+ hours in the garage and 300+ team briefings

It was an industrial-scale symphony of engineering and passion, all focused on making the Desmosedici GP the most complete machine ever to line up on a MotoGP grid.
