MATTEL BRICK SHOP X HOT WHEELS X AUDI: BUILDABLE LEGENDS FOR COLLECTORS - PROBABLY OVER 35.

Mattel has just dropped a fresh collab that’ll light up both die-hard petrolheads and brick-building fanatics: a new Audi x Hot Wheels Brick Shop collection, featuring two icons from Ingolstadt’s back catalogue - the Audi Avant RS2 and the Audi R8 LMS. This isn’t just about toys. It’s about capturing the soul of some of Audi’s most legendary performance machines in a format you can build, customise, and proudly display. The sets mark the latest evolution in a relationship between Hot Wheels and Audi that dates back to 1993, when the first official casting rolled out of the Hot Wheels garage.

“Hot Wheels and Audi first partnered more than three decades ago, and we’re proud to expand that relationship into one of Mattel’s newest brands in the building category, Mattel Brick Shop,” says Ted Wu, Global Head of Vehicles and Building Sets at Mattel. “These new sets give collectors and enthusiasts a new way to interact with their favourite cars - by building them piece by piece.”

Audi Avant RS2 – The original super wagon in 1:32 Scale. Launched in 1994 as a joint project between Audi and Porsche, the Avant RS2 was the car that proved station wagons could absolutely shred. With its turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, six-speed manual box, and Porsche-tuned everything, the RS2 quickly became a cult classic.

Now, thanks to Mattel Brick Shop, you can build your own miniature version.

This really, really cool RS2 kit includes:

A removable greenhouse roof for full interior access

Four opening doors plus opening front and rear windshields - a first for Mattel at this scale

Toyo Proxes R888R tyres for that track-ready stance

OEM-licensed wheels, plus custom decals to make it your own

A Hot Wheels signature metal display plate

And then there’s the Audi R8 LMS - This racing royalty comes in a 1:16 scale. The Audi R8 LMS isn’t merely a race car; it’s a modern endurance legend with all the best tech and spec possible. Debuting in 2009, this V10-powered GT3 machine has stacked up wins at the Nürburgring 24 Hours (seven overall victories) and across championships worldwide.

The Mattel Brick Shop version packs serious detail:

A removable roof reveals a fully detailed interior

Opening doors and engine hatch for proper pit-lane posing

A functional steering wheel linked to the front wheels

Interchangeable decals, spoilers, splitters, and wheel covers for race-day customisation

A Hot Wheels metal display plate to finish the build

Both sets are available now for pre-sale at select global retailers - including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Mattel Creations - with full retail availability landing soon. We’ll have one of each, pretty please.
