PEUGEOT'S NEW INCEPTION CONCEPT IS A FUTURISTIC COMMITMENT TO NEW TECHNOLOGIES - AND IT'S RATHER TASTY.
With the advent of EVs, automakers are creating some amazing concept cars to show off how electric propulsion and all the associated new technologies can be used to make some amazing forms of transportation in the future. Stellantis-owned Peugeot recently revealed a concept car doing just that, combining current and future technologies in the creation of the highly stylish and very futuristic Inception Concept. "Peugeot is committed to the electrification of its range. In 2023, 100% of the vehicles in the range will be electrified and in the next two years, five new 100% electric models will be launched. Our ambition is simple: to make Peugeot the leading electric brand in Europe by 2030. This objective and ambitious vision pave the way for a radical transformation for the Brand. It is embodied today in the Peugeot Inception Concept which marks the beginning of a new era! Peugeot promises that the world is a better place with Allure, the Peugeot Inception Concept embodies the meaning of this promise from today onwards" says Linda Jackson CEO of the Peugeot brand.
The fully-electric Peugeot Inception Concept features a 100kWh battery that reportedly allows for an amazing range of 800 km on a single full charge. There are two electric motors that produce a combined 500kW (680 hp) and will be able to hit 100 km/h from a standstill in under 3 seconds. It also features things like Steer-by-Wire, Smart Glazing, an exclusive front-end Fusion Mask, Communicating Doors, i-Cockpit, Hypersquare with Halo Cluster, Immersive Seats with Air Quilting Mattress, Focal premium hi-fi, moulded textiles, the lack of a conventional dashboard and aerodynamic wheels that help with drag and in turn that long range. The Inception Concept has a very interesting look to it, and that’s thanks to a body shade composed of very fine metal pigments and is single-coated, which means that less energy is used during its application and it also works to highlight the bodywork and interacts the same way that glazing does by tinting according to the external environment.
Take a look at the YouTube video that shows some of the behind-the-scenes footage of the inception of the Inception Concept car, which admittedly looks like an awesome project to have been involved with: A BTS look at the making of the futuristic Peugeot Inception Concept | CWM
