THE AUDI A5 FACELIFT HAS BEEN SPOTTED TESTING
Those sneaky photographers we love so much have snapped the facelifted Audi A5 Sportback in testing.
The latest facelift of Audi's A5, wearing it's Sportback outfit here, is to receive updates to its front, rear and interior, following the design aesthetic of its A6 and A7 siblings.
It's near impossible to see the changes underneath the effective camouflage although it's clear that the rear lights, front bumper area and exhausts appear to have been altered, not unlike the latest Audi A6 and A1.
We suspect the interior, which hasn't been snapped, will receive the A8 and A6's dual-level infotainment system, with ‘haptic feedback’, and a return of the virtual cockpit – which will likely be standard fitment in all Audi products soon.
If it's two bigger siblings are anything to go by, the powertrain will probably include a mild-hybrid system for more efficient fuel consumption and better power delivery. Expect the 48V systems to be introduced across the range over time.
The current A5 was significantly better than its predecessor and it's likely this facelift will provide a significant upgrades too, especially in terms of performance, with even the entry-level diesel model reaching 100kph from 0 in less than eight seconds.
The release date for the new Audi A5 is yet to be announced but rumours suggest we'll see it in showrooms later this year.
