THE FIRST BUGATTI BOLIDE WAS RECENTLY DELIVERED - AND IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE RACETRACK.

The legendary Circuit of the Americas in Texas, now a staple of the Formula One calendar, recently hosted Bugatti’s first U.S. customer to take delivery of the nearly $5,000,000 Bolide - the most insane Bugatti to date. What better way to check out and drive a new hypercar than on a closed-circuit racetrack? Before the Bolide screamed around the 5.513 km circuit, a full Bugatti crew was on hand to make sure everything went off swimmingly. The day before the track session, the customer, who Bugatti isn't the multi-bazillionaire car collector Manny Khoshbin, underwent an in-depth static handover and technical briefing, diving into the Bolide’s advanced systems and features. With its 20 demanding corners, COTA is a proving ground for even the most seasoned drivers, and this meticulous preparation was a must for someone who doesn’t get much track time, especially in the beast of a hypercar. The track day began methodically, with two warm-up laps allowing the owner to familiarize himself with the Bolide’s razor-sharp handling and bonkers raw power. Afterwards, the car returned to the pits for a thorough inspection just to make sure everything was still good. It damn well should be able to take thrashing on the track with that price tag. Bugatti’s crew adjusted tyre pressures, checked oil levels, and made sure every component was primed. As a reminder, the Bugatti Bolide is a purpose-built track-focused hypercar that combines all the best bits of a Chiron with a lightweight, aerodynamic body. Powering the hypercar for the track is an 8.0 litre, quad-turbocharged W16 that generates a monstrous 1,177 kW with an equally scary 1,600 Nm of torque. The whole package weighs just shy of 1,450 kg and the aero can generate nearly 3 tons of downforce at high speed. The Bolide can stop fast too, it wears the biggest carbon brake system ever produced by Brembo.

Despite the added challenge of rain, the car reached an impressive top speed of 333 km/h. "Sitting behind the wheel of this extraordinary machine was unforgettable. Once trained, the Bolide is, as promised, incredibly easy to handle, and its performance is completely manageable. Yet, the sensation when you come out of a corner, press the throttle, and feel a relentless surge of power is incomparable. Though the rain was an uninvited guest, it added a layer of excitement to this special day. I can’t wait to do it again—I’m already planning another session in February. A big thank you to the Bugatti and Bugatti Beverly Hills teams for their incredible support throughout this journey." commented the owner. The spec of this Bolide sees it finished in a striking French Racing Blue with Nocturne accents, including Nocturne Black Carbon on the lower bodywork. The duotone design pays homage to Bugatti’s racing history, drawing inspiration from icons like the Type 35, the most successful racing car of all time. The bespoke touches extend to the interior, where French Racing Blue meets Beluga Black Alcantara and polished aluminium. A custom track plate inscribed ‘Équipe Curtis’ nods to Ettore Bugatti’s legendary racing team, adding a personal connection to the brand’s legacy. Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director for Sales and Marketing at Bugatti Automobiles, summed up the significance of the Bolide’s debut: "This kind of experience—a purpose-built, track-only machine powered by Bugatti’s unmatched W16 engine, supported by our dedicated team of experts, and capable of delivering extraordinary drives on some of the world’s most legendary circuits—is something only Bugatti can offer. The Bolide showcases Bugatti’s commitment to pure performance, pushing the boundaries of track capability. This first circuit experience is just the beginning—with many more to come in 2025."
