ALD'S 5TH CUSTOM PORSCHE 993 TURBO TIPS ITS HAT TO THE BIG APPLE

In the bustling heart of New York, where style meets performance, Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) and Porsche have unveiled their latest masterpiece: a bespoke Porsche 993 Turbo. This collaboration marks the fifth classic Porsche restored by ALD, solidifying their long-standing partnership with the iconic German automaker. The Porsche 993 Turbo is widely revered as one of the greatest sports cars ever made. As the final iteration of the air-cooled era, it blends timeless design with the raw power of a twin-turbocharged engine - a machine that redefined performance and durability and was such a handful that it was referred to as The Widowmaker. ALD’s restoration doesn’t just celebrate this legacy; it elevates it, merging impeccable craftsmanship with modern refinement. The ALD-restored 993 Turbo incorporates elements from the legendary Turbo S for a sportier vibe and so that iconic Turbo S spoiler is in play. It enhances the car’s aggressive aesthetics but also serves the function of adding downforce, ensuring the Porsche performs as well as it looks. Complementing this, a Turbo S exhaust system and front splitter sharpen the aerodynamics and underscore the car’s motorsport DNA. Sitting on 18-inch Porsche Turbo Twist rims finished in a bespoke Mulberry Green with gold accents, the car certainly grabs attention. Michelin, a trusted Porsche partner, supplied Pilot Sport PS2 tyres that were tailored specifically for this 993 Turbo. Every detail of the technical restoration utilizes genuine Porsche Classic Original parts, ensuring the car remains true to its roots while benefiting from a meticulous restoration - likely at a massive cost.

Inside, ALD’s signature design language takes centre stage. The cabin is swathed in rich dark brown leather with lambswool accents for a touch of luxury. Hardback seats are painted Mulberry Green to match the car’s exterior, while dark brown carpets, floor mats, and a matching instrument cluster complete the oddly monochromatic aesthetic.

The details are where this collaboration truly shines:

Custom Branding: The steering wheel and headrests sport bespoke Aimé Leon Dore and Porsche logos.

Personal Touches: A brass Unisphere gear knob symbolizes ALD’s Queens roots, while the door sills proudly bear the phrase: “A team from outta Queens with the American dream.”

Heritage in Design: Every inch of the interior is a nod to the balance of heritage and innovation that defines both brands.

Beyond the Car: The Mulberry Green Capsule Collection

The collaboration doesn’t stop at the 993 Turbo. Inspired by the car’s exclusive Mulberry Green finish, ALD has designed a capsule collection of apparel and accessories, including the highly anticipated Leather Club Jacket. “It has been a refreshing experience to work on this capsule with the ALD team,” says Nicola Ader, Director of Marketing & PR at Porsche Lifestyle Group. “The result is the perfect match for the car and a great way for both communities around the world to become part of this project.”
