THE MANTHEY PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS HAS THE GOODS TO BE A 'RING LEADER
When Manthey Racing logos grace a new-generation Porsche, you’re not just looking at a car - you’re looking at a statement. It says the driver craves performance that smashes past "standard" and doesn’t mind parting with serious cash to make it happen. Manthey Racing, the brains behind Porsche Motorsport’s GT Works competition cars since 2013, is no stranger to pushing limits. From headlining the VLN class Cayman GT4 Trophy to fine-tuning street-legal monsters, this partnership is a match made in Nürburgring heaven. And with Porsche AG holding a 51% stake, it’s a collaboration carved in carbon fibre. Their latest brainchild? The Manthey Kit for the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It’s the most aggressive evolution of Porsche’s track weapon you’ll see - until they top themselves again, of course. The Manthey Kit turns the GT3 RS into a downforce-dominating machine. Up front, a larger spoiler lip with a reworked wing profile gets reinforcement from carbon fibre elements, boosting stability. Redesigned wheel arch Gurney flaps and dual dive planes on each side of the bumper channel air with precision, increasing front-axle grip. At the rear, it’s all about lightweight dominance. The standard rear window is swapped for a carbon fibre panel, slashing weight by 25%. On top sits a shark fin borrowed straight from Porsche’s 963 World Sportscar Championship car. Combined with six roof fins, it directs warm air away from the front radiator, ensuring the rear intake gets a cooler airflow boost. And then there’s the pièce de résistance: the carbon fibre DRS wing. With its split-element design, larger end plates, and reduced drag aerodisc wheel covers, the GT3 RS achieves unprecedented aero efficiency. The result? Over 1,000 kg of downforce at 285 km/h, turning fast and medium-speed corners into a playground for precision. “With the Manthey Kit, the 911 GT3 RS has improved significantly on the racetrack, especially on medium-speed corners,” says Porsche Brand Ambassador Jörg Bergmeister. “The car dives, pitches and rolls even less, offering a much more stable aerodynamic platform. The high contact pressure therefore remains very constant under all driving conditions.”
Manthey Racing didn’t just rework the body; they dialled in the chassis too. Semi-active coilover suspension gets stiffer, with spring rates up 30% up front and 15% at the rear. A new control unit delivers razor-sharp automatic damper tuning across Normal, Sport, and Track modes. Want more? Track mode lets you tweak the setup further via the steering wheel’s rotary controls, tailoring it to your driving style. Stopping power is dialled up with steel-sheathed brake lines and optional race-spec pads for Porsche’s Ceramic Composite Brake system (PCCB). The fine-tuning continues with some optional flair: illuminated carbon fibre door sill guards, LED door projectors, coloured decals for the aerodiscs, and Manthey logos in Neodyme, white, or black. Even the tow eye comes in style options - red, black, or yellow. The Manthey-kitted GT3 RS isn’t just an evolution; it’s an engineering flex. From cutting-edge aerodynamics to tailored suspension dynamics, it’s a testament to what happens when Manthey Racing and Porsche put their heads together. “Over a period of two years, we worked together with Porsche engineers on the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS and tested it over several thousand kilometres on European racetracks and on the Nürburgring Nordschleife,” says Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH. “Our data promises a significant improvement in lap times compared to the standard 911 GT3 RS. So far, weather conditions have prevented us from achieving an official lap time on the Nordschleife. We want to make up for this at the next possible opportunity.”
