THE STORY BEHIND THE TOKYO DRIFT FORD MUSTANG RB26

Tokyo Drift sported many amazing car builds, but probably the most unconventional build would have to be the Black 1967 Ford Mustang with white racing stripes. What makes this car stand out is the fact that it was fitted with a Nissan RB26 engine straight out of an R34 GTR.

We have all seen the iconic movie Tokyo Drift, even though, when it made it to cinima, most Fast and Furious fans thought it was a great disappoint to the storyline of the Fast and Furious franchise... until movie director, Justin Lin, found a way of fitting the story in a perfect sequence to the entire Fast and Furious franchise by placing it in between Fast and Furious 6 and Fast and Furious 7.

The Mustang was introduced toward the end of Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift after the main character, Sean Boswell (played by Lucas Black), destroyed an RB26 swopped Nissan Silvia S15, and needed a new car for the main race to defeat his rival in the Veilside Nissan 350Z. Sean's father found a 1967 Ford Mustang shell at his military base which Sean and his mates fixed up, fitting the Nissan RB26 from the totalled Nissan Silvia S15 into the Ford Mustang.

Take a look at the video below that goes into detail about the RB26 swopped Fast and Furious 1967 Ford Mustang.
