VIDEO: CHRIS HARRIS EXPERIENCES THE FERRARI FXX-K LIKE NEVER BEFORE...

It's Top Gear's series 24 and we get a sneak peek at what the Ferrari FXX-K is really about.

If you're not sure why this car can make one of the world's favourite and most experienced motoring journalists giddy, then let us tell you. This Ferrari isn't street legal and it doesn't fit into any racing category anywhere on the globe. It's a hybrid based on the La Ferrari, pushing out 140 kW from the electric motor and 633 kW from its mighty V12 for a combined power output of 772 kW – that's 1 036bhp.

It's loaded with F1 tech including the E-Diff electronic differential, F1-Trac traction control, racing ABS brakes and four driving modes.

It also has some crazy aerodynamics, up front is a large splitter and twin-profile spoiler and tiny headlights to improve aerodynamics. At the back, the tail is higher and includes a mobile spoiler with a tailfin and a small wing in the end of each fin to maximize the downforce.

Weighing only 1 165 kg, it's a track focussed, limited production beast from the future.

In the video below, filmed at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida, USA, Harris puts it through its paces and, much to his (and our) delight, unleashes crazy by putting it in 'Qualify' mode. Basically, it unleashes every drop of power and all of its aerodynamics for one hot lap. And it's a sight to behold.

It's a tough job but someone has to do it.

Check it out in the video below and let us have your thoughts.
