What are the most reliable engines of all time? Let's see what the Mad Lab guys have to say.

When it comes to reliability, almost all of us will have an opinion. Petrolheads may have experience because of aftermarket tuning while those who couldn't care lett about cars probably drive a for or Toyota because that's what dad and his dad drove.

Either way, it's likely that most of us are brand ambassadors for specific manufacturers whether we realise it or not. So, how do we get an objective opinion then? Well, we scour YouTube to find a video like this one.

According to the Mad Lab write up: "Have you ever wondered, with all the technology that is available, why we can't produce incredibly reliable engines? Could it be that engine manufacturers really don’t know what they are doing? Or are they purposely making unreliable engines to make money from part and repairs... Everyone knows it’s not profitable to make something that lasts forever. Despite this, there are some engine manufacturers that made incredibly good engines… so good they had to stop!"

Not only do they run through some of the best engines ever created, but they've also listed a couple of cars that have huge mileages, like the 1966 Volvo 1800S owned by a guy called Irving Gordon. It's the current Guinness World Record holder with, wait for it, three million miles on the clock!
