VIDEO: RICHARD HAMMOND CRASHES IN SWITZERLAND!

One of our favourite TV presenters, Richard Hammond, had an epic accident over the weekend, crashing a multi-million dollar supercar which burst into flames. He was filming for his latest show the Grand Tour when the accident happened.

He was driving The Rimac Concept One electric car in Switzerland's Bergrennen Hemberg mountain race when he lost control approaching a bend and left the road, crashing through a short wall and down an embankment. Fortunately, Hammond was conscious after it happened and climbed out the car by himself before the vehicle set alight.

His co-stars, Jeremy Clarkson and James May said they believed Hammond was dead because it was 'like a bomb had gone off'.

Hammond was airlifted to hospital and is recovering from surgery to his knee.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, it is still not known how fast Hammond was travelling when the car veered off road. The concept car has a top speed of 220mph and can go from 0-60mph in just 2.5 seconds.

Luckily, Hammon is recovering and looking well and all of us at sxdrv wish him a speedy recovery!
