CANADA CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF THE 3 SERIES WITH THE M340I XDRIVE 50 JAHRE EDITION
BMW Canada has dropped something special for enthusiasts north of the border - the 2026 BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition, a limited-run tribute to half a century of the world’s favourite sports sedan. Just 100 examples will be built, each crafted as a rolling homage to the six generations that shaped BMW’s legend. The “50 Jahre” nameplate, translating to 50 Years, has already graced a series of high-performance M cars globally - from the M3 and M4 50 Jahre Editions released in 2022, to the M5 50 Jahre Edition that turned the super-sedan dial up to eleven. Each one has celebrated BMW M’s golden anniversary in its own way - unique colours, exclusive trims, and the kind of collector’s cachet that sends auction values climbing before the first cars even hit the road. Now, Canada’s getting its own slice of that magic - focused not on M GmbH’s racing arm, but on the cornerstone that made it all possible: the BMW 3 Series.
To mark 50 years of 3 Series heritage, BMW has reached deep into its historical colour palette, resurrecting shades that defined decades of driving passion. Buyers can choose from six BMW Individual finishes, each one tied to a past generation:
Madeira Red Metallic - E21 vibes from the late ‘70s, when disco ruled and the 3 Series first set the benchmark.
Laguna Green Metallic - A nod to the elegant E30 era that birthed the first M3.
Avus Blue Metallic - Pure ‘90s E36 energy, sharp, clean, and unmistakably M-flavoured.
Carbon Black Metallic - The sophisticated edge of the E46 generation.
Deep Green Metallic - Rich tones that echo the underrated E90 era.
Citrin Black Metallic - A modern twist from the F30 and beyond, where digital precision meets old-school spirit.
Each car rides on 20-inch forged M Performance wheels, with a twin-pipe M Performance Exhaust that ensures the straight-six soundtrack hits just right.
