CAR SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE AIMS TO END THE NEED TO BUY A CAR

Electric car subscription service looks to end the world's need to buy a car.

Just from reading the title, as an automotive enthusiast, you are quite possibly hating on the car subscription service idea already, but let's see why the concept is a fantastic idea.

A new electric car manufacturer called Canoo is developing cars that you don't buy, nor do you lease them, but rather get to drive them by means of a monthly subscription service.

This, however, will completely kill the charisma of owning your own car and expressing yourself through your purchase. But is that necessarily a bad thing?

We all know very well that there is a vast difference in a daily driver and your "toy". They both serve different purposes, and can't overlap. Your daily driver gets you to where you need to be, and the car you enjoy can be used for weekend runs and meets etc.

You can think of Canoo's concept as being an Uber you can actually drive, and it's not your responsibility to maintain or insure it at all.
