JEREMY CLARKSON GIVES HIS THOUGHTS ON BRITAIN'S FIRST ELECTRIC HYPERCAR – THE LOTUS EVIJA

Jeremy Clarkson gives us his thoughts on the Lotus Evija, Britain's first electric hypercar.

The Lotus Evija is the British car makers take on an electric hypercar. Clearly being obsessed with the letter "E", Evija means "the first in existence" or "the living one", and it surely lives up to its name. The Lotus Evija produces a staggering 2,000ps – or 1,973hp – and 1,254 lb-ft of torque, which translates into a 0-60mph time of well under 3.0 seconds!

All looks good on paper, but what are the thoughts of the petrol-guzzling V8-lover, Jeremy Clarkson, on the new Lotus Evija?

Clarkson explains that the Evija looks like a supercar, it's very pretty. There has never been an ugly Lotus besides the Lotus Eclat. "It's very pretty, and if they have paid attention to their heritage, it will handle beautifully".

Jeremy Clarkson goes on to explain that, as amazing as the Lotus Evija seems to be, it will never be as impressive with an electric motor, as he is old-fashioned that way. The Lotus Evija is something that will excite James May that much more.
