LIGIER ATTACKS THE NüRBURGRING TO SET AN AWESOME NEW RECORD - BUT IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK.
Ligier Group is pushing the boundaries of license-free cars with a unique challenge: driving the new Ligier JS50 REVO D+ from Paris to the legendary Nürburgring circuit. This one-of-a-kind project celebrates technological innovation, automotive passion, and sporting performance, perfectly embodying the dynamic DNA of the Ligier brand. On the famous German track, the JS50 REVO D+ set a historic lap time, a first for license-free cars, thus making motorsport history and reinforcing Ligier's leading position in the high-performance license-free vehicle sector. As part of the launch of the new Ligier JS50 and its innovative REVO D+ Diesel engine, two renowned automotive journalists, Nicolas Meunier and Martin Coulomb, took on a first challenge: to reach the Nürburgring from Paris, at the wheel of this new generation license-free city car.
Through a journey of more than 500 km crisscrossing France, Belgium and Germany, the two journalists were able to experience the full potential of the new REVO D+ Diesel engine, whose fuel efficiency is impressive: a single tank was enough to complete the entire journey, with a homologated consumption of 3.0 litres/100 km. But beyond mere energy efficiency, the trip highlighted the comfort, safety, and driving pleasure of this new generation of license-free vehicles. A model designed for new forms of mobility, redefining the standards of the segment.
Because the Ligier spirit is above all about audacity and passion for motorsport, the French manufacturer continued its adventure with an unprecedented event: entering three models, including two license-free cars, on one of the most demanding circuits in the world, the Nürburgring Nordschleife, nicknamed "the Green Hell" with its 73 corners over a length of 20.832 km. Under the astonished gaze of the car enthusiasts present that day, three Ligier JS50s took to the starting line, sporting symbolic numbers, true nods to Ligier's glorious history in Formula 1:
