OUR FAVOURITE BAZILLIONAIRE CAR GUY, MANNY KHOSHBIN, HAS A NEW FAVOURITE TOY AND IT'S ALL WHITE WITH US...

Real estate mogul Manny Khoshbin is a literal boss and is worth over $80,000,000. Just so you can understand how much money that is, at today’s current exchange rate, that’s in excess of R1,500,000,000. If you were in a government school, you may need help to put that into words - it’s over one and a half billion Rand. The self-made man spends his property billions on all the right things, just like we would if we were clever and driven enough to get to his level. Not only does he have a breathtaking collection of super-and hypercars. His collection doesn’t just feature the most iconic cars of modern times, well it does, but they’re not the regular versions, they’re ultra-limited edition models like a Pagani Huayra Hermes Edition, a Bugatti Chiron Hermes Edition, a McLaren Speedtail Hermes Edition and an Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider among others things. Those other things include no less than 8 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarens. EIGHT. Mercedes-Benz built the SLR McLaren between 2003 and 2009 and out of those, the 722 variant was one of the rarest and most desirable models sold. Not long after production had wrapped up, McLaren Special Operations got its hands on the SLR 722 and upgraded 25 cars with a host of new features as well as bumping the power a bit. What’s cool is that if you have the money and an existing SLR, you can ship it to Woking in the UK where McLaren Special Operations will sprinkle a little British goodness on the car to turn it into an SLR HDK (High Downforce Kit).

The High Downforce Kit conversion is brilliant, and just twelve examples were made available to customers and all were booked by owners at the recent gathering held at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) in Woking. Oddly, we didn’t spot Khoshbin in any of the footage, but here he is with his own version sorted by McLaren Special Operations. Limited editions are only limited by the size of your bank account it seems. The revisions to the McLaren SLR take inspiration from the track-focused 722 GT racer so there’s an increased track width of 60mm at each end of the car. To accommodate this, the SLR also gets flared wheel arches, and to add to the racing flavour, a new rear wing inspired by the legendary McLaren F1 GTR. The car’s weight also gets a little attention, reduction comes from a new exhaust with the silencers removed, and the added bonus is an amazing soundtrack highlighting the brilliant supercharged 5.5-litre V8 housed under that expansive bonnet. The upgrade package helps improve the car’s high-speed handling. This only applies to those owners that have the guts to give it proper horns on a racetrack. There are no official performance figures out yet to show how the upgrade package affects the car’s performance, but in standard guise it’s a beast of a thing. That whining supercharged lump produces 455 kW and 780 Nm of torque that’s sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed auto transmission that can get the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in as little as 3.8 seconds and it will run on to a decent top speed of 334 km/h. Impressive for a 20-year-old car. You just know it has to be special when Manny says it’s his favourite car, even though he recently took delivery of a Porsche 992 GT3 RS Tribute Edition. How cool is that interior?

Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off the latest car in Khoshbin's collection that's his current flavour of the month. The man has some of the rarest and most expensive modern supercars and hypercars on the planet, yet his new favourite toy is around 20 years old (its a car, mind out of gutter!): MY NEW FAVORITE CAR IN THE COLLECTION! | MANNY KHOSHBIN
