THE HENNESSEY PERFORMANCE 1,000 HP EXORCIST FINAL EDITION IS PROPERLY WICKED!

Texas-based Hennessey Performance has to be one of the coolest and most American aftermarket tuners there is. If you take a look at any of the cars they work their magic on, the end result is always ridiculous amounts of power with mind-blowing performance. If there’s a modern muscle car out there that needs any sort of power upgrade, or even a visual makeover, the Hennessey crew will likely have a solution. Over and above the upgrade packages on offer, the company also has its very own hypercar, the Venom F5. Not only is it one of the fastest cars on the planet, but it also helps to give the company some serious credibility. You can rest assured that when you hand over your car for some power add-ons, it will be carried out by an experienced team that lives and breathes the brand. The package that’s in the new now isn’t new, it’s been around for a few years and it’s taken more than a few Camaro ZL1 cars over to the dark side. Even a few of the more limited ZL1 1LE editions have been subjected to the evil, but now the unholy power upgrade has been tailored for the last of the last from Chevrolet, the ZL1 Final Edition. With the life of the Camaro coming to an end, all manner of special editions have been seen recently, but this is the one to beat them all. In standard form, the Camaro ZL1 is pretty wicked already thanks to a massive supercharged 6.2-litre V8 that sends 485 kW with a high 868 Nm of torque on tap. It can hit 100 in around 3.5 seconds and can do a quarter-mile pass in as little as 11.4 seconds.

In the hands of Hennessey Performance, the Camaro ZL1 Final Edition Exorcist becomes quite the demon. Most of the work is carried out under that expansive hood, changes include a high-flow supercharger upgrade, a high-flow air induction system, a custom HPE camshaft, ported cylinder heads with upgraded valve springs, retainers, valves, lifters and push rods, an oversized heat exchanger, long-tube stainless steel headers with high-flow cats, and an auxiliary fuel system upgrade. To make it all work properly there’s an HPE Engine Management Calibration and a decent amount of time on the dyno for fine-tuning and around 500 miles of actual road testing. With all of this working as intended, the Exorcist pushes out an amazing 745 kW of power with a ridiculous 1,310 Nm of torque. The resulting performance offered up sees the car able to hit 100 km/h in a little over 2 seconds and it drops the already decent quarter-mile time to a sub 10 at a fast 9.57 seconds with a 236.5 km/h trap speed. The car’s top speed is up at 350 km/h. The upgrade package is priced at just on $55,000, which is a decent chunk of change, but as you can see it’s worth every penny. There will only be 57 of these packages available, and it’s pretty much guaranteed that they’ll all be Stateside. “Our comprehensive upgrade to the Camaro ZL1 is one of my all-time favourites,” commented John Hennessey, Hennessey's CEO and founder, “There’s nothing else like our Exorcist, so we’re eager to share this special limited edition with fans of this iconic car before it’s gone forever.”
