SOMEONE LET BRABUS LOOSE ON A MERCEDES-AMG 300 SL ROADSTER - THE RESULTING ROCKET GTC DEEP RED IS ABSOLUTELY BONKERS!

Making its global debut at Monterey Car Week, the BRABUS ROCKET GTC DEEP RED is a modern-day performance icon that channels the same thrill and exclusivity Mercedes’ 300 SL Roadster stirred in the U.S. during the 1950s - but turned up to eleven, and then some. Based on the BRABUS 1-Second-Wow design language of the ROCKET GTS Shooting Brake, this is BRABUS’s first Hyper Gran Turismo Cabriolet (their words) - an open-top, carbon-fibre-bodied, hybrid supercar dripping with precision engineering and unapologetic F-you energy. Finished in a transparent Deep Red exposed carbon that reveals every hand-laid fibre, the GTC’s bodywork is not only jaw-dropping but also wind-tunnel honed to generate serious downforce front and rear while feeding critical air to its brakes and powertrain. From the ROCKET front splitter with integrated aerofoil to the Kevlar-lined widebody rear fenders stretched to 198.5 cm, every line serves both form and function. Bespoke Monoblock P “Platinum Edition” centre-lock wheels - 21-inch at the front, 22-inch at the rear - are paired with Continental SportContact 7 tyres to deliver colossal grip, while carbon aero blades manage brake temperatures under full attack.

Beneath its sculpted carbon hood beats the BRABUS ROCKET 1000 - a 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 585 kW and 1,250 Nm (electronically limited to 1,050 Nm). This works in tandem with a 150 kW electric motor, two-speed transmission, and a 6.1 kWh lithium-ion battery for a combined 735 kW / 1,820 Nm system output (torque limited to 1,620 Nm). The result is a 0-100 km/h shunt in 2.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.5, 0–300 km/h in 23.6, and it has a top speed electronically capped at 317 km/h.
The soundtrack is just as intoxicating: a titanium BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with active valves lets you slip home quietly or unleash the full V8 roar at will.

Inside, the Masterpiece interior is a study in bespoke craftsmanship. Upholstered entirely in deep red leather to match the exterior, it features precision “Shell” quilting, embossed BRABUS “Double-B” emblems, and contrasting carbon-fibre trim. Every detail - from the Shadow Grey switchgear to the illuminated BRABUS logos - reinforces its exclusivity. There’s a black, electro-hydraulically operated fabric top which, when opened up, reveals the cockpit is upholstered in leather in a perfectly matched shade of red. It features precise quilting in the BRABUS “Shell” design on the seat surfaces, the armrests of the door, side panels, the footwell trim and the leather floor mats. The interior obviously features a selection of BRABUS Signature Carbon elements that extend to the pedal pads, parts of the steering wheel rim and the entry panels (with illuminated BRABUS logo) are made from the same high-tech material. All trim elements in the cockpit, including the switches, air vents, speaker grilles, and bezels, have been finished in matte BRABUS Shadow Grey. There are also ROCKET GTC logos on the passenger side of the dashboard, as well as on the side panels and seat belts of the front seats.

The BRABUS ROCKET GTC DEEP RED isn’t just another Monterey debut, oh no, this is an open-top, carbon fibre-packed fusion of extreme styling, brilliant design, and no-compromise luxury. It’s also priced as you’d expect for something with such a comprehensive upgrade. It’ll set you back just €697,800 - or around R14,400,000.
