THE NEW BMW MOTORRAD CONCEPT RR IS STUNNING - AND IT NEEDS TO ME MORE THAN A CONCEPT ASAP.
BMW Motorrad doesn’t do half measures - especially when it comes to its superbikes. And recently, against the stunning backdrop of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at Lake Como, the Bavarians pulled the covers off a serious statement piece: the BMW Motorrad Concept RR. This machine is more than a design study; it's an awesome preview of what’s coming next for the RR line, and it’s looking fast even standing still.
“Never before has BMW Motorrad provided such an early glimpse into the next generation of our RR models,” says Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad. “The Concept RR is the result of relentless engineering and bold design. Inspired by the championship-winning M 1000 RR, this concept sets a new benchmark - both for the road and the track.”
It’s no secret that BMW Motorrad lives and breathes motorsport. From dominating the FIM Superbike World Championship with Toprak Razgatlıoğlu to carving up circuits across the globe, the brand’s competitive DNA is baked into every component. The Concept RR is the clearest distillation yet of that race-to-road philosophy. At the heart of this two-wheeled weapon is a water-cooled inline-four borrowed from the reigning WSBK champ. Pushing out north of 169 kW, this powerplant isn’t just for show - it's primed for maximum attack. And it's backed by a suite of factory-grade electronics, including race-derived traction control, engine braking management, and a brainy ECU that thinks in lap times.
This beast isn’t just about raw power. The Concept RR is a masterclass in lightweight engineering, using high-tech materials like carbon fibre and aluminium from nose to tail. Every component has been stripped down and rebuilt for weight savings and performance. Even the frame is a structural flex of clever packaging and purpose-driven design. Visually, the bike is all sharp angles and aggressive intent. There’s an illuminated RR badge tucked under the razor-thin aluminium tail, and the whole thing looks like it’s ready to launch off the start line. And it should - BMW's aerodynamicists went deep on this one. From the ventilated front end to the wind-cheating tail, every surface has been sculpted to deliver stability at warp speed, cornering precision, and a drag coefficient that would make an F1 car blush. Winglets? Check. Compact fairing? Absolutely. MotoGP-level brakes? You bet. Whether you're gunning it down a straight or tipping into a triple-digit corner, the Concept RR is built to dominate.
And because no BMW Motorrad release is complete without a touch of Bavarian flair, the brand also unveiled the Concept RR LTD jacket to match. Limited to just 50 units and crafted from premium calf Nappa leather by heritage masters MEINDL, it’s part high-fashion, part high-octane tribute to this future superbike icon.
Take a look at the YouTube video that's definitely not long enough, as it shows off the stunning lines and angles of the BMW Motorrad Concept RR.
