THE MERCEDES-BENZ VISION V – A VIP LOUNGE THAT HAPPENS TO HAVE WHEELS
In a world where vans are usually the last stop on the luxury train, Mercedes-Benz just redrew the map and dropped a palace on wheels. Meet the Vision V - a concept van that’s not just redefining the people-mover category, it’s setting it on fire and lighting a cigar with the flame. Unveiled as the poster child of the upcoming VAN.EA platform (that’s Van Electric Architecture, for those who don’t breathe buzzwords), this silent spaceship will roll into the future from 2026, bringing with it a new era of upscale van life. Not your average family shuttle, this thing has more silk and burr wood than a Monaco penthouse. It’s aimed squarely at the high rollers, the power movers, and anyone who thinks “luxury sedan” just doesn’t have enough legroom. The Vision V is Mercedes’ loud, shiny, very unapologetic answer to the question: “What if we took our S-Class, fed it some futuristic vitamins, and let it stretch out into a lounge?” The massive, sleek exterior is sculpted like it’s headed to the catwalk, complete with power domes, chrome everything, and 24-inch wheels featuring illuminated louvres. Yes, even the wheels got their own light show. A portal-style sliding door opens like a VIP entrance to reveal a rear cabin that feels more five-star suite than family hauler. Step onto an illuminated running board and into what Mercedes calls the Private Lounge, separated from the driver by smart glass that turns opaque on command – think first-class flight meets sci-fi privacy pod. Inside, it’s a sensory tsunami. Think crystal white Nappa leather, open-pore burr wood, and enough ambient lighting to make a nightclub jealous. The seats? Hand-stitched works of art made from tubular cushions and mounted on polished aluminium. They recline, of course, into flatbeds - because business class isn’t enough when you’re running empires from the backseat.
There’s even a 65-inch cinema screen that rises from the floor like a Hollywood plot twist, splitting into sections for custom viewing or doubling as your office’s newest conference setup. Built-in display cabinets hold your handbag, sunglasses, smartphone, or, you know… a game controller for the built-in gaming system. Yes, you can race virtual supercars while lounging like a Roman emperor.
The Vision V isn’t just a space – it’s an experience. Seven interactive modes transform it into whatever you need:
Entertainment – Popcorn not included. Yet.
Relax – Calming visuals, ambient tunes, and the kind of tranquillity that makes yoga look stressful.
Gaming – Full arcade vibes, with a controller built in.
Work – Welcome to your mobile corner office.
Shopping – From rings to fragrances, shop like it’s Rodeo Drive on the go.
Discovery – AR-powered nav on the big screen, like an interactive travel doc.
Karaoke – Because road trip anthems deserve a stage.
The exterior isn’t just form - it’s function laced with flex. A short, taut front overhang, sleek roofline, and that signature “sensual purity” Mercedes is always on about, all converge into something that genuinely looks fast standing still. From the illuminated rear light slats to the chrome-laced B-pillar screens that greet you, this van makes sure you know exactly what you’ve stepped into: the future. It may be a few million above our pay grade (okay, several), but it’s an interesting look at what’s possible when you tell a brand like Mercedes, “Go on then, dream big.”Take a look at the YouTube video from MercBenzKing as they take a close look and a walkaround of this absolutely bonkers Vision V van that shows off the future of the segment, well, for bazillionaires anyway. In the pics and the vid, the van looks like its computer-generated, so it looks quite weird seeing the chap walk around the van showing it actually exists: 2026 NEW Mercedes V Class Luxury Van | VISION V Full Review Interior Exterior | MercBenzKing
