THE STORY OF THE TOKYO DRIFT MONA LISA S15

Check out the story behind the iconic Nissan Silvia S15 from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

The Mona Lisa Nissan S15 from Tokyo Drift is one of the most recognisable cars within the entire Fast and Furious franchise despite having very little screen time.

Aside from having been smashed up relatively early on in the movie, the biggest impact this car had was towards the end of the movie when it was revealed to the viewers that it originally had an RB26 engine installed (Skyline GT-R engine).

However, that was all completely faked for the purposes of the movie. For that static shot where we see that iconic engine, it was actually pulled out of one of the leftover Skyline GT-R stunt cars after making 2 Fast 2 Furious. After that scene was shot for Tokyo Drift, the engine was then returned back into the Skyline.

Nevertheless, the Tokyo Drift S15 still grabs people's attention around the world with countless replica's and tribute cars made in its name.
