THERE'S A NEW GERMAN LUXOBARGE IN TOWN - THE 2025 AUDI A6. A SLEEK-LOOKING THING, IT IS.

Hot on the heels of the new A6 Avant, Audi is pulling the wraps off the latest evolution of its business-class sedan – the all-new Audi A6. Sleek, efficient, and loaded with innovation, this is Ingolstadt’s most aerodynamic combustion-powered production model to date, boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.23. At the heart of the A6 is a lineup of refined petrol and diesel engines paired with MHEV plus mild hybrid tech – delivering improved efficiency without compromising on punch. Add in next-gen suspension systems like adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering, and you’ve got a ride that blends long-distance comfort with crisp agility. Visually, the A6 is all about clean lines and sharp details. The signature Audi Singleframe grille sits low and wide, flanked by sleek LED headlights and functional air curtains designed to manage airflow and add a dose of visual muscle. A subtle front splitter reduces lift and improves stability, while the underbody gets a slick set of aero panels to keep things tidy at speed. Around the back, a fast-sloping notchback rear and integrated lip spoiler help control air separation, while a wide rear diffuser helps balance lift and drag for sharper high-speed dynamics. The crisp taillights and full-width light strip add presence, especially when viewed from the business end of the autobahn. Opt for the adaptive air suspension and you’ll unlock the sweet spot between comfort and sportiness. It lowers the car by 20 mm in regular driving for better aero, and in Dynamic mode it drops another 10 mm to hug the road even tighter. The result? A more planted feel at speed and a touch more visual aggression.

Meanwhile, optional all-wheel steering brings serious flexibility. At low speeds, the rear wheels counter-steer to reduce your turning circle – great for tight parking garages and city streets. At higher speeds, the rears steer in phase with the fronts, adding high-speed stability and precision through sweeping bends. Both the 2.0 TDI (150 kW) and the 3.0 TFSI V6 (270 kW) come equipped with Audi’s updated MHEV plus system. It's designed to assist, not replace – delivering smoother starts, low-speed electric-only driving, and a healthy boost of up to 230 Nm of torque and 18 kW of power when you need it. Regenerative braking feeds up to 25 kW back into the system, helping cut emissions and fuel use along the way. Inside, Audi has taken NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) to new lows. Sound insulation has improved by up to 30% thanks to thicker window glass, upgraded door and tailgate seals, and newly engineered engine and transmission mounts. And if you spec wheels 19 inches or larger, they’ll come fitted with built-in noise absorbers – clever tech that keeps road roar where it belongs: outside. Built in Neckarsulm, the new Audi A6 Sedan is set for a global rollout starting summer 2025. Orders open mid-April, with the base 150 kW TFSI model priced from €55,500 - or around R1,2mil. We’ll have to wait and see what local pricing will be, if the car even makes it to local shores.

Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off all the new models under the latest Audi A6 range. We're still a fan of the A6 Avant, but we're actually waiting for the ones that wear the R and RS badges, because we're cool like that: The Audi A6 models | Audi
