THE FACELIFTED AUDI A3 (8Y) HAS ARRIVED WITH 3 VARIATIONS - AND IT LOOKS GREAT!

The popular Audi A3 Sportback and Sedan are back with a bang after a sleek model upgrade that now sees the car wear a hexagonal, frameless Singleframe grille up front, flaunting a fresh new structure that's both wider and flatter. Combined with new beefy angular side air intakes, it's a clear indication of these compact models' sporty DNA and it is a good sign that when the RS3 variant pops up, that it will be distinctively different. Head to the rear of the new look, and you'll find a rear bumper that's been juiced up for extra boldness, complete with a distinctive diffuser that's straight out of the RS playbook. And when you opt for the S-Line exterior, those progressive design elements really come alive, making a statement that's impossible to ignore. The range gets a new colour palette too, buyers now have the choice of District Green, Ascari Blue, and Progressive Red, all metallic finishes that scream ‘look at me” from every angle. It's a whole new ball game with more things changed than for the exterior. There’s a revamped shifter design, snazzy air vents and decorative fabric inlays, every detail is designed to elevate the driving experience. The already comprehensive standard equipment has been further expanded, and so now there’s a new multifunction three-spoke leather steering wheel, an improved air conditioning system, an ambient light package, and a front-centre armrest. The optional climate control package boasts chrome-finished air vents that give the cockpit an extra dose of sophistication. Contour lighting now wraps around the centre console -  cup holders are now illuminated and the front door panels are now backlit. There are 30 different lighting colours to choose from via the MMI, so owners can set the mood just right for every drive. There’s a new Sonos audio system featuring large speakers in the lower part of the doors that give off deeper bass and a 3D sound that'll stop you from wanting an aftermarket audio upgrade. The decorative fabric inlays are made from 100% recycled polyester and Dinamica microfiber, they're as eco-friendly as they are eye-catching. Dinamica is also used for seat covers and door mirrors.

An interesting addition is the A3 Allstreet, but it’s not surprising looking at how most automakers now offer a similar kind of trim level on popular models. “The Audi A3 allstreet stands out from the rest of the A3 family from the very first impression,” says Stephan Fahr-Becker, Team Leader Exterior Design at AUDI AG. “As a crossover in the premium compact class, it has a completely unique look. The aim was to use specific design elements to emphasize the vehicle’s higher ground clearance even more clearly.” This incarnation of the facelifted A3 means business, featuring a matte black Singleframe grille, a trio of grooves in the rugged spoiler lip that's straight out of an off-road accessory book, while at the back they blend seamlessly into a diffuser that looks the business. With dark rocker side skirts and trim, this more robust version looks like it means business. Plus, thanks to a 15 mm higher ride height and specific spring/shock absorber tuning, drivers will get the best of both worlds: comfort for those long drives and precision handling when you're tearing up the tarmac. Wide wheel arch trims make the standard 17-inch wheels look a bit tame, but luckily in typical Audi fashion, there’s an option for 18-inch and 19-inch upgrades for those who crave even more street cred. The larger wheels work well, especially with the Allstreet having an extra 30 mm of ground clearance. The A3 Allstreet has also seen interior changes to make things more in line with a lifted car, and so it also features a slightly raised seat position that gives drivers a better view of the surrounding gravel. The Allstreet is clearly aimed at those with an active lifestyle because it can get to places a normal A3 cannot, and so it features ample boot space for riding kit or camping gear - there’s a healthy 380 litres of capacity in the boot itself, or a whopping 1,200 litres with the rear seats folded down. The optional electric tailgate, removable tow hitch, and a storage and boot package are available too, perfect for keeping your gear organized on those epic road trips. With nets for small items and a trunk net to keep larger pieces in place, owners will be ready for anything kind of road trip. As you can see from the pics, the facelifted hatchback, sedan and Allstreet look really good, and that bodes well for the S3 and RS3 we’re patiently waiting to see. The facelifted A3 will initially be available in two engine/transmission versions; the 35 TFSII with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 110 kW is offered as an automatic version with a 7-speed S-tronic transmission and mild hybrid technology, the 35 TDI with 110 kW and a 7-speed S-tronic transmission, and a few more options along with a plug-in hybrid model will be added to the range at the end of the year.

Take a look at the YouTube video from the guys that cover all things Audi - Auditography - as they take a close look at the facelifted Audi A3 and discuss whether the changes are plentiful and good enough to tempt buyers to upgrade. The new Allstreet model is interesting, and will probably be popular for the stance guys who like to stance out cars that are meant top be the complete opposite of what they were intended for: REVEAL! 2024 AUDI A3 FACELIFT (8Y) - ARE THE CHANGES ENOUGH?
