2023 WAS A CRACKING YEAR FOR LAMBORGHINI PROVING THERE'S MORE MONEY OUT THERE THAN WE REALISE.
In a monumental year celebrating its 60th anniversary, Automobili Lamborghini has etched its name in history by achieving a groundbreaking sales record. For the first time in its storied legacy, the House of Sant’Agata Bolognese delivered a staggering 10,112 cars in a single year, marking a remarkable +10% increase over the previous year and solidifying the growth trend witnessed over the last several years. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed his pride, stating, “Surpassing the 10,000-car delivery mark is a true source of pride for the entire company. This milestone is an honor for me and all the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to achieve it. It's a success built on true teamwork, and while we celebrate this achievement, we're already gearing up for more exciting challenges in 2024.” The distribution of vehicles showcased a well-balanced performance across three major regions. EMEA exhibited a remarkable 14% increase over 2022, with a total of 3,987 cars, closely followed by the Americas with a 9% increase (Total: 3,465) and APAC with a 4% uptick (Total: 2,660). Notably, the United States retained its position as the top market with 3,000 cars delivered, followed by Germany (961), China (845), the United Kingdom (801), and other key global markets. Breaking down the model split, the Urus Super SUV continued its stellar success with 6,087 vehicles delivered, closely trailed by the Huracán, which achieved a notable record with 3,962 cars delivered. Additionally, 63 cars featuring the iconic V12 were delivered, including the last 12 Aventadors and 51 Few-Offs.
Beyond the remarkable delivery figures, 2023 marked a year of significant milestones and innovations for Lamborghini. The launch of the Lamborghini Revuelto, the first V12 HPEV hybrid super sports car, took centre stage, with orders extending into late 2026. In alignment with the electrification plan Direzione Cor Tauri, Lamborghini unveiled the Lamborghini Lanzador concept car, offering a visionary preview of the forthcoming fourth all-electric model. The debut of the Lamborghini SC63, set to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in 2024, further emphasised Lamborghini's commitment to the future. Federico Foschini, Lamborghini’s Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, emphasized the global recognition of the brand, stating, “This outstanding achievement is a clear sign of the growing perception of our brand worldwide and confirms that the strategy we’ve adopted is succeeding. Our aim for 2024 is to continue our growth trend in the three macro-regions, with Lamborghini Revuelto playing a key role.” The stellar results achieved in 2023 not only validate a pre-established strategy but also signal Lamborghini's aspirations to reach new heights and solidify its success in the automotive realm. South Africa makes up the “other markets” that were mentioned, but there are no figures for local sales that we can find. We can tell you that at the various events SXdrv attends, we have seen a good few Huracáns. More than usual, so it also shows that there are people making more than a fair wage right here in SA.
Take a look at the YouTube video that's not quite related to the post above, but at the same time, it is. Lamborghini has had an amazing year of sales that broke the Italian automaker's annual sales record, and this video shows just how cool a drive in a Huracán can be. With an experience like this, it makes sense that there's increased demand for the Italian brand, no matter the cost. We only wonder how many of the more than 10,000 sales went to YouTube stars?: The Ultimate Huracán Drive | Lamborghini
